Re: i saw this and i was in shock

stock NA FC's only had 160 hp in a package that wasn't the lightest in the world, I can even see a V6 Galant beating one.

Re: i saw this and i was in shock

my friends vr4 doesn't have a BOV sound...just the dump tube and if you listen very closeley, the spooling of a turbo, but its very hard to tell

Could be that the Galant was just running properly. We are talking about a 15 year old RX7 that is known to be one of the least reliable cars on the road, its quite likely that it wasn't running corretly. I have seen those old RX7s run and they are usually not that fast anyway, although i have seen some fast ones that were definately not stock. I would definately believe that one of those old RX7s would be beat by a Galant.

its 160 hp but the weight ranges from 2600 lbs (like mine) to 3000 (for convertable). (note: you can get like 20hp from an exhaust on an n/a with cats removed, its really that restrictive)

all i can say is that i think the galant would have the upper hand if that FC was not running right. honestly the n/a model is not that fast compared to todays cars but we are talking about a car that was considered to have decent performance in 1988, which is slow compared to modern cars. really the race should have been even. sadly its a drivers race. (he must have been a shitty driver because a galant weights 2700 lbs and has 140hp), and to add a side note, there was no 96 galant v6 (and the vr4 was only a 92 model of a different bodystyle).

also might i add the n/a RX-7's are EXTREMELY reliable, the only time i was left stranded on the side of the road was when i ran out of gas (damn gauge wont work). just gotta defend the slow car for now.

Re: i saw this and i was in shock

i guess i missed the 96 part, even so though, 96's have the 4g64 engine (? prety sure) which except for the extra cam is the same as a 4g63 except upped to 2.4 liters so you can turbo one pretty easy (2g turbo parts interchangeable)
the GVR-4's were made in 91 and 92 and both the same body style 2k in 91 and 1k in 92

Eh, maybe it's just one of those things you gotta let go with "anything can happen on the street".
