Where am I supposed to get the money for the first house to rent out? I can't make payments on my living quarters AND save up enough to buy another house to rent out! SO, in reality, it takes money to make money. Only those born rich can make money because only they can afford to buy two houses and rent one out (and so forth).

Since only the rich can benefit from life, I say that all us "normal" people leech off the government and force the wealthy to pay more taxes!
Have u heard yourself lately? Maybe u need to reconsider your position. "How am I supposed to get money for the first house to rent out", u say. That's where your book keeper comes in. If u place enuf of your equity away for a deposit, u can use the "cashflow" from your investment property to pay part of the loan off as well as your tax dollar, hence negative gearing.

Who said getting rich is an easy process. But if u wish to continue your life the way it is, then its your choice, personally, I'm gonna get a book keeper to manage my finance, its not becauze I'm too lazy to do it myself, its because my book keeper can give me tips, provide non-emotional comments regarding my financial statement, as well as give me numbers to good accountants to help me maximize my money.

Also the very person the government is trying to protect ended up the very person it hurt.

The government initially taxed the rich heavily but the influence of the rich created "corperations". With these "vechiles" they use the loop holes to pay less tax n get richer.

The rich also use other ppl's money to get rich, eg they goto a bank to get a loan to buy a house. With all these "debt" they create they literally pay no tax, they have all this property, under corperation protection they own nothing but control everything. So if u sue a rich person they own nothing which means u just wasted money.

The very point I'm trying to put here is the rich ain't your problem, its the way the system is contructed. But there's not turning back. In fact the higher u earn the more your taxed. N we're not even including GST. So in effect your tax is between 50%-70%. So while the rich exploit the very system the government created not many ppl choose. Whether u choose to use these vechiles n loop holes is up to u, but for one thing sure the rich will continue to do so whether u like it or not or when u get poorer or financially struggling.

Most definately, not only does it work, my dad does it as well as both my uncles have done it and with success. Its great this corperation deal thing.

I mean, if your gonna b all upset about having trouble about money, then don't dwell on your misfortune, do something about it. When I have a problem I do something about it, I don't just let it take me over. That's how I c thing n I guess many ppl don't share my view.

I'm right there with you. The responses that I'm seeing here are responses of people that just don't want to succeed. If you want something strong enough you find away. Anyone that says the word "frustrated" relating to finances knows nothing about them. Pick up a book, start reading, all the information anyone needs to get ahead with there finances is already printed and in there local bookstore. You just have to care enough to start looking.

Re: Affording a Lamborghini

All of the advice on how to get a Lambo asumes that one has SOME sort of money to begin with. For example:

Where do I get $100,000 from in the first place? See my point? The truth of the matter is that those who are successful succeeded because they were born with a silver spoon, or they got lucky and won/ inherited some money.

Ditto... 10 years... still poor.

So, in trying to be "successful" in my thinking- instead of flaming you guys, I'll just ask how I go about getting my initial money so that I can begin to invest/ buy property/ etc... Please give me a grant or something.

Red face

I suppose I can afford one, but I would have to sell 1/6th of my stocks realistically.

Check out the book "The Millionaire Next Door" by Thomas J. Stanley and William D. Danko...and I quote;

"Most people who become millionaires have confidence in their own abilities. They do not spend time worrying about whether or not their parents were wealthy. They do not believe that one must be born wealthy. Conversely, people of modest backgrounds who believe that only the wealthy produce millionaires are predetermined to remain non-affluent. Have you always thought that most millionaires are born with silver spoons in their mouths? If so, consider the following facts that our research uncovered about American millionaires:

* Only 19 percent receive any income or wealth of any kind from a trust fund or an estate.

* Fewer than 20 percent inherited 10 percent or more of their wealth.

* More than half never received as much as $1 in inheritance.

* Fewer than 25 percent ever received "an act of kindness" of $10,000 or more from their parents, grandparents, or other relatives.

* Ninety-one percent never received, as a gift, as much as $1 of the ownership of a family business.

* Nearly half never received any college tuition from their parents or other relatives.

* Fewer than 10 percent believe they will ever receive an inheritance in the future."

Re: Money to get started

By the way, I am educated, motivated and gifted... so it is not a lack of intelligence/ skills that prevent accumulation of wealth (some people associate wealth with intelligence).

Thanks DaveZ. I save about $6,000 a year from my small paychecks, but even at that rate it will take me 16 years to save up for a $100,000 off-shore investment, OR 60 years to save for a down payment on a small apartment complex (to gain income). Ouch! And if I loose that off-shore investment, then I'm set back 16 years

I live in my car, eat Taco Bell & burgers ($5-10/ day max on food); I've given up TV, vacations, new clothing... just about everything. I only spend money when I feel I will "loose it" from this frugaul lifestyle. What more can I do

Thanks for the information Drkcloud, but I have to wonder how many of those people were BORN in wealthy or successful families & benefitted from the connections or stature that such a pedigree provided. Food for thought.

DMC12 you are a very very pathetic person and you will never earn more than 100k in your entire lifetim, if you are lucky. It's poor/middle class people like you, that have been brainwashed into thinking everyone is getting screwed and rich people were born that way. My parents came to this country with NOTHING and they are rich. I havent recieved a single dollar form my parents since I was 16 and I am rich. If you have the right mindset and work hard for yourself, and not your boss like some slave, you will be rich too. I had $500 yesterday....in about 3 minutes. How long would it take someone like you to make that much? do you think you are actually important or worth ANYTHING? No. You are just a negative thinking person...and that negative thinking will be nothing more than a self-fulfilling prophecy as to you becoming poor/middle class the rest of your life. Paying high taxes, working 6 hours a day, having to WORK for money and not having money work for you. You people make me sick and it's just pathetic I just wish you could hear what you are saying. You can talk all you want, but the rich people control this country and you will never be there. No rich people started out or were born rich, they all worked for it. You have no idea what you are up against and talking about at all...even people who inherit money don't just live the good life...you need to manage it and keep it running. Buying assets is not easy and it sure beats the hell out of working 8 hours to make my boss rich. DMC12, you are pathetic. You will never own a lambo. You will be lucky to own a Honda Civic when you are 30. You are pathetic. Stop complaining and MAKE something of yourself you worthless sack of garbage. You will be poor and working class forever. Pathetic. Nothing more to say...

it;s the way you think that makes you rich in the end...there is not set pattern to follow...just think rich and you will become rich...its so simple that people like you miss it...its SO simple....

It is all about class systems. the barriers have been broken down, but there are still traces lying around. Those people who spit on my car are jealous. It is all about jealousy.
