Not something I would have gone with, but you're back on the road, and that's what matters. Congrats.

The car i was looking for was not something that was a spead racer. The key here is new, and low insurance. Not many cars will fit those 2 and still be sporty and affordably priced.

Re: Chexmixa's new "Whip"

No I understand that. I'm just not a ford guy, so no matter what, it wouldn't have been what I would have picked for any reasons. I would have looked for an '01 toyota or nissan or honda or something. But that's just me, like I said, glad your driving again.

I had to stick with 04 or newer, my parents are nazi's when it comes to getten a car with a warrenty. I like the Sentra SE-R spec v alot but it has higher insuance then my Srt-4 did. I don't like anything in the toyota lineup. and a basemodel 4 door honda has high insurance also cause of theft rates.

Hey i am glad i am driving again too, its nice to be back behind the wheel. Once summer hits and i am able to work 40 hours a week more regularly i will be able to start modding the car out more seriously then your minor bolt ons.

Re: Chexmixa's new "Whip"

150HP isnt a bad starting spot for a 4 banger. Add a turbo or blower and 200HP will easily be hit.

I would love to turbo but the rods aren't strong enough. I have to go the N/A route. Luckily enough for me the engine is detuned quite a bit and it is easy to extract HP out of it with the proper equipment. Unfortunately its expensive. For 200 whp i would have to spend at least 2500.

Cool, but me myself, I dont look at Fords as being one of "good" car manufactuers. However, it's not a bad looking car though. Congrats on your new buy! Hope it lasts you while. :hehe:

right... that would be a pain in the ass swap...

but yeah nice car, thats what i was hoping youd choose, ive driven those cars and i really like em i thin theyre really nice cars. and actually its a little faster stock then a civic SI if it runs a 15.8 quarter. ive heard the 2.3's which take pretty well to mods... it does have a 2.3 right?

Yeah its got the 2.3 duratec, its peppy. The engine has alot of potential, its not the strongest motor but it responds very well to mods.

Re: Chexmixa's new "Whip"

shoulda got a zetec, lots of people putting down 250-300whp on stock internals, and pump gas.

The duratecs a good motor, small aftermarket so far but its growing.

Zetec is nice, but its not all that great. It would cost a boat load of money to get that much HP outa the motor. I am not looken for a car that will only last me 40k Miles. I can spend a resonable amount of money to achieve 180 whp and maintain my reliability. The aftermarket on the Duratec is growing at a rapid rate. Soon enough it will be able to rival the Zetec's aftermarket.

40k? theres people with 225-240whp on stock internals with 100k.
