i opened mine for the first time today. i bought it back in december, so im not sure when, if at all, it was changed. totally black with grass and leaf particles. its amazing that this filter could get this dirty. is there anywhere to purchase the filter other than the dealer?

I'm confused - I thought there were 2 filters in the cabin air filter area?

I know Puralator makes them (and lists both) in their book. Where I buy my Puralator oil filters doesn't carry the other products - but I'd beet an Autozone (which also carries Puralator) would carry them.

Re: Cabin Air filter

my '01 had 2 filters in it. the first one is right there when you open it up, the other you have to dig/work out from the same area. They are installed side by side. I got my filters from Oreilly's. Just tell them you need the interior air filter for your truck. Both filters came in one box.
Wix #24805. cheap too.

I have been searching ac-delco parts places online. I've found a charcoal impregnated set of cabin air filters for about $35. I wonder how they compare to the stock filters as far as odors etc?
