Re: Camaro Greatness

Ahhh, camaros. i used to think that a car was a car. That was until i got that lovely piece of machinery. It wasnt even really a nice car. But it was a camaro. I never really knew how great it was until i had to sell it. An intrepid just isnt the same.
I dont know what it was about it that i liked so much. I think my favorite thing was how i had to lift myself up to see over the hood. It was great.

Well thats my little piece of poetry.

Eh, I love my camaro, I remember a cop pulled me over and threatened to have my car towed, but he was like "well it's a pretty nice car you have there" and let me go, I was like "Thanks, god". I agree with the Camaro looking mean and beautiful at the same time, especially from the front, like its about to charge at you, but I only think like that about the 3rd gens and 1st. People always come up to me though, like one time I was sitting in my car, waiting for my friend and some random guy came out of the store and began talking to me about my car. Lol

Re: Camaro Greatness

I only have a automatic V6 and you can definately hear and know the difference between a 6 and an 8 and mine is pretty new but still im suprised to find that I get compliments every now and then about my car. I was pulling out of this men's warehouse (needed a shirt and tie for an interview) and I had my windows down and this guy walks by and says "Hey, nice car, whats it got in it?" and this is where im only confused... see the truth is I have a V6, but I know he wants to hear V8...

Another time I was installing my K&N filter real quick at this auto store and this guy was doing some maintainence work on his taurus and he said it was a nice car and to not buy a ford, I then said "F.O.R.D., Fix Or Repair Daily"

But the one Camaro that REALLY gets compliments EVERYWHERE (and I mean everywhere) is my dad's 67 RS/SS Indy Pace Car, whenever he pulls that out of the garage there is always some guy just staring at it or walking up and making a comment.

One thing I do hate, people who talk their cars up like it's the shit... I mean there is a thing called modesty and the whole "sleeper" thing is cool, I mean if you are talking to someone is willing to race you and you tell them all your mods then thats no different than telling someone what kind of hand you got while playing poker.
But this kid I know, just a little runt that thinks he is so tough, he was acting all retarded and offered to race me for my "pink slip" (which in washington, its not pink), I called him a retard and told him he gave the camaro a bad name... I also mentioned that his car sucked (even though its an 85 with 350) and that he should take it and get his ass outta here before a trailer park springs up.... but thats my huge post ofr the day

Yeah, I cant wait to get my Ls1 in mine and change up the badges to z28. The reason im doing that is because people always go, V8 right? Z28? and im like no...v6...rs... but then when I DO get a v8, then im going to be like "You know it, hell yeah its a Z28" and unlike Xeno, its gunna have power behind the badge not just a look.

I wouldn't badge it for two reasons....

1. It isn't actually a Z-28. It may make the power, but the VIN doesn't reflect Z-28.
2. Sleeper. Pull up next to someone that knows Camaros, and they think you are a V6. SEE YA!!!

Re: Camaro Greatness

That was the exact reason I removed the badges on my Formula but now that bought a ram air hood. I guess that all goes to hell. Oh well I will still blow there doors off most likely

Yeah, i've thought about keeping the badges on for the sleeper, but alot of people dont know their Maro's (Well the ones I know) and if they see Z28, they think Power, but Im still not sure and in the process of deciding, really.

Re: Camaro Greatness

im not gonna knock on Xeno at this point.. but im gonna say that i still dont like the Z28 badges.

*on topic: shortly after i got my camaro, my dad won a 2002 Mustang GT Conv. in a giveaway from a local gas station chain (WESCO). He and my grandpa (86 IROC) and I used to go cruisin all the time down the strip and by the beach with our cars, even though my car was a v6, i'd get a ton of attention. I dont spend much time down there now obviously because of working and everything else i have.. not to mention my dad had to sell his car.. but it was great for that short time, 3 generations of the Kieft family with 2 of the best american cars ever made. I still get attention and compliments from people occasionally, but nothing compared to when i was rollin with the big dogs.
