i can just imagine what the juarez cartel and the arellano felix cartel can do together in mexico if they would put their heads together instead of killing each other and their families.

Re: Illegal Immigration

Okay. Here's the problem with this whole line of thinking - illegal immigration is NOT the problem, it is a symptom of a problem - especially if you're speaking about Mexico's situation. Tell NAFTA to fuck off already, if Mexicans can't earn more than a pocket change each day ($6 a day is a pretty good wage for a Mexican) thanks to NAFTA setting maximum wage limits - then why would a Mexican not want to come to the U.S. and earn $25-$50 a day from some hick farmer, and haul back enough money for his family to live on comfortably?
Worse yet, all this foriegn money being injected into Mexico's economy does nothing good for it.
Cut the problem off at it's head, or else you'll never really solve it.

Very well said, and you make an excellent point.

I've always been of the opinion that the right(wing) solution to this problem is simple. Americans should compete with the Mexicans when it comes to the wage they'll work for, and that way they can keep their jobs. Farmers only want to hire Jose because he works for $4 an hour, I'm sure they'd rather hire a good hard working American, especially since he speaks english! It would also mean more profits for the employers, and that's supposed to translate into a trickle down that benefits everyone, or at least that's how tax cuts are supposed to work, right?
