Re: K&N, its a start

OK heres whats confusing everyone: 93-97 has the "to the side" "cone" style intake. 98-02 has the lid right in front of the throttle body sucking in air from directly below it, under the car.

Re: K&N, its a start

air lids are cool as hell, i like how they look. and if u have a ss u wouldnt have to worry about cold air because your hood is functional....well at high speeds it does the same thing. i myself didnt like the theory of the cones just hanging down catching air, i made a scoop to catch the air and run it into the cones. i really dont buy the air will get up there crap, im sure directing it to the intake will make it work better

Re: K&N, its a start

i found buying the cool air intake system a waste of money to be honest. I built mine and it does the same thing. Needs to be combined with some duals and maybe a performance chip to make any real big difference probablly though.

Re: K&N, its a start

well to be honest alot of things we buy for our cars u make at home yourself...cold air intakes, sub frame connectors, hell ive even heard of people building turbo's. either way u go about it the things work pretty good. some may wanna save a buck and make it at home, some folks are like me and like the label or brand so u pay the extra dollar, hell i could get a loudmouth exhaust that works great, but i will pay the extra 400bucks to get the borla, thats just me. we all do it from time to time. do u get nike or do u go to wally world and get hike?? same thing, u just pay for the name most of the time.

lol, what the hell is wally world? i agree with you on this one tho, they are pretty much all the same, just find the cheaper one for the better deal.

ps, if you are still in high school you better get nike unless you like getting beat up / made fun of.
