if your engine blows up it would be if your threw a rod (internals not strong enough) or you screwed up. if you were to run boost on a high compression engine (10:1 NA engine) then you'll need to run race gas or have an alky/meth spray so you don't get pre-detonation. also, by running a higher octane fuel you can turn on more boost.
