the weight and the cost are the two things that have kept me from getting any dynamat, but the road noise inside my crx is SO bad... and i need to figure out how to resecure the carpet all around anyway, so i figure i could get some for all over the floor and nip this problem in the butt, but it's so heavy and expensive.

that is only true if you slap it onto a dirty surface area...and that applies for any sticky application on a dirty area

my hubby is MECP cert. worked in a stereo shop 7 yrs. if you ask him he'll give you the thumbs up on dynomat

it will be added weight but c'mon, you aren't lining your car with lead. it's like rolling around with the comforter off your bed. go to your local stereo shop and ask them to show you what they have. chances are they will have a dynomat display that will show you the difference (sound wise) with and without...then they should put some in your hand to show you it is reasonable in weight

Re: is DYNAMAT any good?

So dynamat will keep the road noise out also or does it just stop the vibrations?

Re: is DYNAMAT any good?

i believe it does both quite efficiently. it is a kind of insulation, so it helps to absorb vibration, thereby stopping it from transfering from the speaker to doorpanels, etc. at the same time it also reflects sound back into the car and deadens sound coming at the car from outside.

i wouldnt mind getting at least my doors done cuz i get some intense rattling going on all over them, from the window cranks to the door handles, it all shakes like crazy with the alpine 6.5's in there. once i get my sub in i'll hafta decide whether i should get my hatch done as well. i'll need a license plate kit too cuz those things are loud when they shake.

Dynamom - Dynamat? Is this a coincidence? I think not!

Re: is DYNAMAT any good?

Good one dipshit. Come back with a better one next time.

I have actually heard that weather shield, used by roofing contractors, is very similar to dynomat, and lots cheaper.

Re: is DYNAMAT any good?

Yea, stockinteriors.com offers sound deadener/heat insulation type shit. Pretty cheap but i havent heard anything or know anyone who has used it. Ive thought about layin some down when i install my new carpet/interior. My car is rediculously fucking loud with no interior. AActually with the b16 now its loud with or without. Expecially on the highway.
