Hi, after spending the last couple months learing about DSMs, I finally place my fist couple of orders online last week.....I ordered so far a 1st gen bov, uicp, injen "like" intake (cheap), joe P mbc and a autometer phantom series a/f gauge (it looks preatty cool/ricey ).....I wanted to buy a boost gauge too, but I'm not preatty sure if autometer are "that" accurate or if I should buy one that reads boost only OR vac/boost...I am not sure yet why would I need the vac for..........would I be maxing/overheating my t25???........My goal is to kill v6's and v8's.....would a 14b (cheapest option )do the job on a near future?......I am currently looking to get a custom exhaust around my area......thanks, any input is apreciated....

Re: Max hp on T25

I'm not a fan of boost/vac guages. I've seen several examples where the accuracy goes to hell over time. Never seen this on a boost only guage. In fact, I've had my 0-35 psi autometer sport comp boost guage for the 5+ years I've owned the car. It always matches calculated boost (dsmlink) and the dynos guages. If I need to know what the idle vacuum is, I hook up a vac guage. Its a rare occassion, mainly just checking hose-on fuel pressure.

Re: Max hp on T25

Mine was running 14psi stock. I did the BCS restriction mod to get 16 out of it and still have the ecu protection.

I have a MBC but i don't want to push the T25 because it really becomes a furnace after 16. Not to mention the stock intercooler isn't very big.

If your interested in getting a bit more umph out of your ride for the cheap, I would check out all the free mods first, removal of bcs restrictor, removal of licp noise dampener. And then go for the cheapies, like air filter change, budget upper intercooler pipe, 1g throttlebody.

A lot of the cheap upgrades require some of your own modification work, but if your good with a grinder, dremel, drill, etc... you can make your dsm look stock but easily eat anything 4cylinder you throw against it.

Just yesterday I raced my old probe that I put a KLZE engine in. My buddy I sold it to has the car running well into the high 14's and I took him by a car. I'm pretty impressed, that KLZE is built.

Wow, a little old... like 4 years too late (04-02-2005).

Please don't bring back old threads that aren't yours. Most of the people in the post aren't even here anymore. Thanks for playing.

Your friendly mods.
