Re: Swap pics so far
obviously your lost, i did say there are better subs out there, just depending on what you want, i like clear crisp sound with a decent low end, nothing to make your heart jump out of your chest, just more of a live concert sound, if i were in a competition then yes i would want some better harder hitting subs but i don't want that, so stop trying to be an asshole and put people's shit to shame and just for your knowledge i understand speakers more than you might think, and ya got the kid thing wrong too, so when you figure out how to wire 2 subs, 2 mid ranges, and two tweater horns to two speaker jacks w/out resistors, you let me know. and just so you know i even went to the extent of finding out what the heat overload temp is for each amp and put thermo cut outs 65 degrees less that the max the amps could handle so i would blow an amp or anything, so obvously you have never built an entire system from scratch buy your self or you would understand about resistors to blead down the amperage and wattage so you don't shoot a mid range cone into the front seat with you which where i started to learn about 8 years ago, so keep your mouth shut unless you got something good to say and you know what you are talking about.

K buddy, why the hell would you hook all of those to one output on your amp, you are retarted. second, i personally thought you might have some intelligence when hooking up all of you lows/mids/highs with putting at least some crossovers/capacitors in there instead of hooking all of them up to one amp terminal. LOL so i think you do not know wtf you are doing there kid. as for your subwoofer choice, take the money you used to buy the pos sub system and buy a decent sub, any other sub out there will be 10 times better then those explodes. As for me building a system from scratch??! im pretty sure everyone builds their own from scratch, i dont know of any other way to build one.... i personally worked in the car audio industry for 3 years, so i beleive i do have the knowledge... as for your last comment i think i do know what im talking about. and i think you proved how intelligent you are by your last statement... mainly the: "so when you figure out how to wire 2 subs, 2 mid ranges, and two tweater horns to two speaker jacks w/out resistors, you let me know" Basically tipped it off. sorry for being so harsh.

Re: Swap pics so far
Well , if thats what you think then thats what you think, but the resistors just keep me from blowing my mid ranges especially, the tweater horns have one of their own already installed, and it keep me from haveing to run crossovers or capacitors, i could still run a capacitor to keep my headlights from flickering but i don't need it up that loud when i am driving down the road. And i myself have worked in a road shop and installed speaker components, but i never did fool w/ intalling the head unit itsself cause i hate all the little plastic face plates and stuff, i always break em. But i have 14 speakers running of the head unit and 2 amps and that is some what of a wiring fieasco, but it just depends on what kind of sound you want like i said and i am quiet happy w/ my set up, it may not be what you want but still, don't put other peoples work to shame cause usually people take pride in their own work and will get offensive when someone puts it down, what kind of system are you running currently if you don't mind me asking, are your more a competition speaker guy or is it for listening enjoyment? I still havn't figured out why alot of people have a bad impression on the explode series, the first couple they came out w/ had some serious problems, but their later models are improving w/ each one that comes out. And i agree they don't compete w/ rocksford falsgate, or specialty companies that all they offer is speakers but for what i need it suits me just fine.

Exlpodes are just crap plain and simple, they dont last or perform. thats why people knock them. nexst time dont get yappin you mouth when YOU dont know what YOU are talking about. plain and simple... i think you have embaressed yourself enough. As for my setup nothing fancy, but i do it right. Pioneer head unit, infinitly kappa components, Infinity 6X9's in the back, Alpine amp. dont open your mouth without saying something intelligent, you obviously dont know waht you are doing if you are running 14 speakers off of your head unit....

Re: Swap pics so far
off a head unit and two amps dick head fuck off man this isn't even what the thread was originally about, it was about my swap and i posted a pic of my speakers in the back while i was at it, so it sounds fine and has lasted 3 years so far w/ out a problem or anything, so maybe something is done right, and everyone i have ever had sit in the car say it sounds bad ass, even people w/ good systems their selves so i guess they don't know what they are talking about either, oh well guess we are all just dumb asses then again what do i care what you think. Hey by the way you know canada is americas hat right!!lol j/k just had to be a smart ass back take care man, and i not gonna knock on anyone elses shit so there ya go.

Re: Swap pics so far
i put the thermal cut outs on the power wire and one on the ground so if it got too hot it cuts everything past my amps out, and it does work cause i took a really long road trip one time on the interstate w/ the windows down so i had it jammin pretty good the whole way and plus the back of the hatch was packed full of luggage and stuff and it got too hot and cut the amps off and i checked the thermo cut outs and they were not connected anymore, but when they cool off they fall back into posistion

So by placing a thermal cut off in a place where it does nothing?!?! you do realize that when termal cut off's work, they dont "fall off" that its like a fuse and breaks??? and you are obviously dont know how to set up tweeters or mid range speakers. but hey if you want to call that "your way" go right ahead. just to make it clear its the wrong way. Like i said before, dont ever talk sh*t when you cant back it up buddy, you said you know what you were doing..... i think i just proved that you dont.

Well i have read through 2 pages of ranting and im suprised that no one has said anything about this, a friend told me about this post and i couldnt keep quiet, so here is my two cents. First of all Darb there is no reason to come in here and call down somebodys equipment just cause you dont appreciate the brand. Sure its not the best setup ive ever seen but to each his own, if he likes how it sounds then great. You say that youve been in the car audio industry for 3 years....well man this is pretty un-professional. Darb is probably a little confused right now, since he is a friend of mine, but hey i tell it like it is. Second off Scott....14 speakers is alot man. And completely unneccessary (excuse any spelling i suck) You say you like the "concert" sound, so im goin to give ya some advice, and it has nothing to do with capacitors, Crossovers Line drivers resistors perpitrators (which one does not belong)or any other flashy electrical term. Although the electrical side of car audio is important, sound in the end is the goal. in a car like a home theatre you have 5 basic channels....front, rear, left right and center. If you can cover all 5 of these channels with a decent speaker youll have the hottest concert in town. For instance...if you had two speakers in the dash, two speakers in the doors, 2 6x9's in the rear...2 subs and one 4" mid in the center Youd have all channels covered. Darb does know quite a bit about electrical Stuff, quite a bit more than i do.....But ive been in car audio for maybe 5 years....been installing for 2 years ive ran everything from sony to elemental designs to Resonant Engineering to now my Orion h2, ive installed everything from infinity to Diamond Audio to Adire Brahma....and buddy in car audio a capacitor is a paperweight that stores power, it releases power every time your amp needs that extra burp....something that prevents unwanted frequencies from getting to different types of compenents is called a crossover.
So to the both of ya, Scott...if your happy with the sony, right on...maybe just think of moving things around a bit to maximize the sound, and darb i know ya meant well, but ya got to remember in life one mans trash is another mans treasure. But thats just my 2 cents

Re: Swap pics so far
i am pounding one as we speak, and i didn't wnat to get into an argument about this, but he dogged my shit when i wouldn't have done such a thing to him. z24trev put it best and i like the way he broke it down, and i apreciate it. I know i am not running the best equiptment, but i am getting everything that you can out of it, and i understand about the 5 channels, and i am planning on spreading things out, that is just a box that i built to hold some 10's and everthing else so i could get some sound, i plan on spreading it out and installing some 12's and i am going to stick to explodes cause i have yet to have a prob, but once again i am not in competitions or anyting, i just want so decent daily driving tunes and i thought i made that clear to him but the argument went on so sorry for everyone having to read some BS but i had to stand my ground cause i worked for what i have and put it all together myself and i like to take some pride in my work weather it be the best craftsmanship or not, So thanks again z24trav for putting in your 2 cents and helping get the point across that it dosn't really matter, each is his own and that's how it is.

Re: Swap pics so far
*cackles*
*coughs* I like the motor. Looks like you are pulling things together. As for the sound issue. To each his own. If you don't like it, look in the mirror and let it out. No need to argue over the internet. Letting someone know your distastes and telling them they are wrong is two completely different things. Just pipe down and try to keep the MODS from doing something one of you will regret.
