Question Stuck out there

I looked at the specs on the Eagle rims you are looking at. The offset is 4" on the back. Your stock rims are probably 6 or 7" now with most stock rims having a 4" offset. So any width you get will be going out. From the pic, you look like you have 1 1/2" - 2" to play with. When I checked the offset on the rims I got, I found out they were 3 5/8" offset. So when all was said and done, I actually pushed my stock skinny sidewall out almost 4". Here's my truck the day after I bought it. With 8" wide rims, these same tires now come slightly past flush with the top of the rear fender. The fronts actually stick out a little. Sorry, but I misplaced my camera during a move, so I don't have any pics of the new rims. Hope this helps. BFG by the way, recommends a 7" - 8 1/2" rim for your size tire. Oops, looks like I gotta figure out how to post pics................

See if a local shop will let you hang one off the front corner. Guesstimate how much more sidewall you'll have, and you should get a good idea how they would look. I recommend the front because the body is narrower up there than the rear.

Re: Everyones opinion on these rims

i would like them to stick out a bit more but i dont really have much room in the front as it is...but pushing it out would that make any difference in the tire rubbing?

It's possible. That is a concern I have about going to a taller tire. Crank your wheel all the way one direction and see how much clearance you have from the rear fenderwell. That is where it looked tightest to me. I still haven't heard anything from the swap, but I know it has to be close. Guess what I just found!? PM me your email, and I'll send you before and after pics.

I'd go with the 8", on those tires, or you may end up looking like a 4x4 that's been bagged! LOL...... Thanks for the help.

American Racing. I don't especially care for the 3 spolk design myself, but the other ones look like they should be on a ford.

I want to see a pic of whichever you go with. You may have convinced me to go up to 265's.

Re: Everyones opinion on these rims

Go with the 8's. They will look wider (cause they are) than your stocks. I just had a set of Pro-Comp series 8089's put on today. They are the same rim as the 6089, but powdercoated black in the center. They just came out, so no pics on the net yet, but they look bad ass. This is my 2nd set of Pro-Comps. They are outstanding wheels IMO. GREAT warranty, and I can leave them on all year too!

Re: Everyones opinion on these rims

how are pro comp's price wise?

3wbdriver -- some 265 m/t or a/t's would look great on your truck.

I have 20x9s on my truck. No rubbing at all lock to lock. But b/c of the size tires you are going to put, I would also suggest 8" wide.
