But hey maybe he just wants a nice looking 240 and isnt in to tuning that much. Id rather see a nice looking clean 240 with no other mods than some kid with a totally riced out 240.
I would also just like to see a clean 240, I mean im not saying adding a gawdy/boxy kit is something that appeals to me, but I was just trying to help the guy out. To each his own is my view on it

Hit_n Run, I don't believe you were trying to be an ass, just stating your opinion. Hoever it could have been worded differently along with just some help for the guy you know.

ahh, here it is. After 20min of searching, i found my favorite looking 240 on this forum. It looks so clean and nice, yet still not completely ricey.

Anytime I figured if you were going to take a stab at insulting me, I could at least point you in the right direction of doing it correctly.

And yes, it does.

Re: Re: looking for aftermarket body prod.

guys, you are ragging on and on about the body kits, think about it, they add STABILITY, BETTER COOLING, OPTION OF WIDER TIRES, and of course cool looks. i am looking at a 96 24o, gonna drop a tt rb in it, and shoot for about 450-500 rwh. with that kind of power, the weight is a minimum factor, if not an added bonus. the added advantages of the wider tires, better cooling, and added downforce at speed, is a much better option.... the kits actually do serve a purpose.

wind splitters and cannards keep air from getting under the car (which creates lift)and created downforce on the nose, spoilers create downforce on the rear. the big open air ducts cool breaks, engines, intercoolers, and all the goodies that need fresh air. but that is just my , afterall, i am new to this too.

what's e' gonna do to his car....?

true... isn't that why we keep mentioning what performance mods he has?

Re: looking for aftermarket body prod.

body kits add stability? and if you want wider tires, roll the fenders you already have... You guys have your opinion, and i have mine. Mine is that body mods are pointless, unless its wider tires or something usefull. But buying things to make other people think you look cool is stupid.

Re: Re: looking for aftermarket body prod.

yes they do, at speed, why do you think so much attention is paid to a car in the wind tunnel in development, or an f1 car has the wings it has on it, did you know that an f1 car creates enough downforce that it could drive upside down on a ceiling at 91-100 mph?

Re: looking for aftermarket body prod.

i think i read that in popular science? like last year they had an article about it. Most body kits dont have wings on the side that create enough downforce like you say it is. And i still would like to know what he has done engine wise.

Re: Re: looking for aftermarket body prod.

It Isnt The Wings On The Side That Create The Downforce, It Is The Nose And The Spoiler, The Sides Are The Fueltanks, And Engine Cooling Stuff. They Create A Little But Not Nearly As Much As The Front And Rear.

(please Exscuse The Caps, At Work.)

The Body Kits Do Divert The Airflow Over The Car, Obviously Not To The Extent Of An F1, But For The Street They Serve The Purpose. Keeping Air Over The Car, I Was Thinking Of Skinning The Underside Of Mine (using An .040 Gage Alluminum) When I Build It.

Re: looking for aftermarket body prod.

I think you guys should all drop it since this guy did a damn "drive-by post". I mean he left one post and never even came back to argue his point or explain his plans. So everyone stop getting mad at each other. Damn, u go in that corner and you go in that corner. Your all on time out!!!!!! HAHAHA
