EDIT: Oh and I know that you have to spend money to make your car go fast I just meant that I dont have money and therefore I need to upgrade like just about everyone else, One piece at a time.

Re: N/A KA24DE (CA, CARB Exempt, Street Legal)
Where do you get the stickers? And if it is that easy what's the point of having to get your parts approved by CARB? What are the consequences of lying and getting caught? Impounded car anyone??

i would say: ebay, friends, people on forums, or any sort of local tuner shop if you slip them some $.
and basically cops just look to see a sticker. if an fbi task force comes after you they will probably check the # and shit and you will get caugt and thats all bad but if you have stickers on there i think you will be fine with local cops.

Re: N/A KA24DE (CA, CARB Exempt, Street Legal)
Got it. And yeah Im not planning on ricing out my car or trying to get pulled over anyway with like a 2 foot high spoiler, limo tint, body kit (anytime soon, but even then it'll be like a nismo style bodykit, very subtle) or an excessively loud exhaust.

Re: N/A KA24DE (CA, CARB Exempt, Street Legal)
Thats what I did. One piece at a time.
Then forget the header. I didn't feel much of a difference anyway. Do I/H first. Cross that bridge when you get to it.

Re: N/A KA24DE (CA, CARB Exempt, Street Legal)
Alright for u Cali guys like me, I was doing a little research and for the 91-94 the only CARB certified header that I could find was the DC Sports Ceramic Header. So if you dont want to swap out your header every 2 years or fear of getting pulled over by a cop that knows a little something about cars here u go. It might not be as good as a Hot Shot header(since I've heard that Hot Shot is the best) but u get a little piece of mind.

So if the smog guys see your turbo under the hood of your car, you fail the test even though the turbo is CARB certified?

Re: N/A KA24DE (CA, CARB Exempt, Street Legal)
Im not trying to be biased or anything here. Its just when a tuner wants to modify his/her car and just wants to go fast, they want to do it right without the whole mix up with the smog and the tree huggers.
I also live in Cali too (Central Cali) and i have a lot of friends that mod out their cars too.

And yeah I know, DC Sports does make a header. I thought they only dealt with Honda/Acura but upon researching and looking around with all the major aftermarket dealers I found that DC Sports makes a Ceramic Header that also happens to be CARB certified.

Second of all, I'm only looking to get the intake and header smog legal cuz that is the most noticeable if they decide to pop my hood. As far as other performance parts such as internals, I could put whatever the hell I want cuz they're never going to know. Lastly, I know someone that can do smog checks for $300 but point is I really dont want/need an SR swap that bad. I'd rather stick with the KA and see what I can do N/A.

Re: N/A KA24DE (CA, CARB Exempt, Street Legal)
Why are you mad at me? Really, modifying your car is not legal (don’t get technical with me about what the word “modifying”. intake and exhausted will attract attention and get you pulled over)
Anyway, Intake and exhaust are NOT LEGAL ANYWAY BRO IN CAL! So whatever you do, you will get a ticket if you are unlucky and a police feels like pulling you over. My friend is an LAPD, he doesn’t pull over ricers because the LAPD have more important stuff to do. But at places like Garden Groove, Torrance, Manhattan beach, they will pull you over. (Many stories I can bring up to back up my point, no need to do so. I bet you have your own story too. COPS don’t like modified cars, especially at night) BTW 300 $ for a smog check? WOW, dude I pay $80 … I never got pulled over, my car looks like crap, that helps allot… my BOV and exhaust are quite too.
