There are more ways to meet people on the internet then via dating sites.

I've never been to a dating site. But I've met alot of people via the internet. some are really close friends, some I hate. Some I've met in real life. Some I already knew in real life.

u can join for free, put ur pics up, and wink at people. u could get emails from members, but u cant sent emails, just like free flirt. it cost 29.99 for a mtn or 6 mths at 12.99 each. go on there and do a search and if u dont see at least one girl ud like to date, u could talk all the shit u want.

I met a girl online one time... fell in love with her.

The thing about the internet is that you can be what you want... and when you speak to someone that you'll probably never meet, you have the option of being completely and totally honest and up-front with them. It breaks down communication barriers that way, and it's easy to develop a very close relationship with the other person. It allows you to get to know the person, rather than have the facade of physical interaction to contend with.

So, I met this girl online over 2 years ago without any expectations... she was just someone to chat with while I was at work. But after a while, IM'ing her every day for several months, we started talking on the phone. The only person I don't mind talking to on the phone (at great length) with. I spoke to her every day for about a year and a half, and I've never been closer to anyone in my life, and it was great. We had an unbelievable amount of things in common, and she was absolutely beautiful. Alot of people say "well, how do you know that the pictures of her are really her?" but sometimes you just KNOW. Plus, I've seen video of her, and there's no faking it then.

I've been in love with her ever since, but there was too much standing in the way of the relationship. For one, she lives in Montreal which is about 2500 miles from here, not to mention across an international border. For two, she's Iranian, and comes from a fairly traditional middle-eastern family who expects her to be with a middle-eastern man.

The thing about a long distance relationship is that, in order for it to ever work, it has to be converted to a short-distance relationship. In other words, one (or both) of you has to leave the life you know to be with the other person. In my case, it would've had to be me... I would've had to move to french-speaking Canada, leaving my friends, job, family, etc. behind in order to be with her. Something I seriously considdered many a time.

However, we both realized that the odds of "us" working out were against us, and we've tried to go our seperate ways. It's hard, because, even though I still talk to her every two weeks or so, I'm still madly in love with her. We plan to meet sometime soon, she's planning on making a trip to Vancouver in a month or two, and if she does, I'll be there to meet her face to face.

just went on my date fri,and saw her everyday since. awesome girl. she's got everything going for her, just not sure if the physical attraction is 100 percent. but im more of an emotional person anyway, so we'll see what happens. i have to admit noone has made me laugh like she does in a looooong time, i was crying tears of laughter. thats what dating is for i guess. ill keep u posted.

I do need to say I am not a club/bar type of person. My job requires helping people when in need. I drive a flat bed trailer with a truck since I am not allowed to have a CDL(Commercial Driver's Lisence). I have met several gals doin it. One was very nice and I hang out with she usually comes with me on some late night runs to keep me company. I woke up all pissed off about getting draged out of bed and then it was some hot chick stuck. She was relieved it was not some grimey middle-aged grease monkey tow truck driver. After she said that I said I was relieved it wasn't some middle aged balding nerd or an annoying old lady. I got a nice tip, a kiss on the cheek and hug, and a phone number. Sweet Deal. I voted sure,why not? Especially since most people here are users and suck anyways.
