Re: if you could change one thing about the stock 3g it would be....

yeah those 2g awd turbo didnt really become infamous until after the release of that damn movie. too little too late. and AWD cost too much. duh mitsu, of course your gonna have 10% sales if all the other ones looked practically the same and a major difference in cost. A weak 420a and a power handling 4g63t motor.

Angry

The one thing i think most needed on this car is also one of the simples. the lousy factory tires with the new g3 truly suck. i recently upgraded to the Bridgestone Kdw tires and was amazed at the improvement and handling of my gts. what tires do you think should be on these cars from the factoy?

Re: if you could change one thing about the stock 3g it would be....

disc brakes on the rear for the 4-banger. it would look more astheticly pleasing. and the interior is sorta shitty. its not up to par with, dare i say, a ricerhonda. my center console is not very sturdy. but then again that could be from all the chicks hoppin and leanin over.......

i agree w/ the tires, but these cars were meant more to last a long time than perform well, sumitomo HTR+'s aren't bad tho, i upgraded and i rarely squeek or squeel when going from a stop

I dont care what you guys say. The 3G looks a whole hell of alot better than a 2G. The 2G reminds me of a tampon. But nothing beats the 1G!!!!

Re: if you could change one thing about the stock 3g it would be....

the 1g and 2g were innovative. the 3g tried to out-do its own prototype. the 4g should have been the 3g. and the 3g should have been.......well....well been re-designed with the 2g and 1g at hint of dis-satisfying sells. Well, not dis-satisfying but the "hype"
we all know the pontiac is not going to keep that design as the GTO. That was a lame excuse to bring it back. they should have waited like dodge did with the charger. And ford? i think the 05 back fired on them a little. the mustang they designed it from looked better.

and also a *cough* TURBO *cough*. is better than a v6 imo. Tunable. well mitsu better be bringin a new tunable car than that damn expensive ass lancer evo. you know, since the eclipse is not a "younger crowd" car anymore. hell all the new mitsu's are not for the "younger crowd"

Re: if you could change one thing about the stock 3g it would be....

i saw on a comercial that the ribbed doors are supposed to be some crash safety feature deal.

and the turbo.....of the all the 2g and 1g sales, only like 10% of those were of turbo cars. so saying that "it should of come with a turbo" doesnt say a whole lot. and just wait a few more years...there will be a pretty good aftermarket for the car.

you are kidding right? have you seen the numbers for the sales of the new mustang. they are selling off the lots. the two dealerships in my town cant even keep them on the lot. they are sold before they even get to the dealership

Quote:
Ford Motor Co., the second-largest U.S. automaker, said it will build 192,000 Mustang sports cars this year, 80,000 more than in 2004 when production was interrupted to make way for a new version of the sports car.

Ford, based in Dearborn, Mich., said in a statement that it is boosting production to meet demand from customers. The company introduced the redesigned Mustang in the fourth quarter, the first all-new version of the car in 25 years.

The company shut down Mustang output last year from May to September to prepare for the introduction of the 2005 model. Production was moved from a Dearborn plant, which closed after 86 years of operation, to a factory in Flat Rock, Mich., that Ford co-owns with affiliate Mazda Motor Corp.

Mustang sales in the United States rose 19 percent during the first two months of 2005, while the company's total sales of cars and light trucks declined 7.4 percent, according to Autodata Corp. The increase in Mustang production comes as Ford is bringing out a convertible version of the new model in time for the U.S. spring selling season.

Ford produced 154,937 Mustangs in 2003, the last time the company had a full year of production, spokeswoman Anne Marie Gattari said.
have you even seen pictures of the new charger? its the 05 magnum front end and the 05 mustang rear end. all dodge did was copy from these two cars.

Re: if you could change one thing about the stock 3g it would be....

its funny how many people dont realize, that charger is based on the same platform as the new chrysler 300M, and the "station wagon" version is the Dodge Magnum. 3 cars = same car. Some souped up engine work here and there, still the same base though.
