yeah i know ivan has is own site, and i've actually met anthony in person once. just a note, remember anthony's car is weird like that. only he seem to be able to get away with it. unless you have a techtom mdm or a apexi multi check monitoring the igntion timing at all times, i don't suggest you go anthony's route with the stock ECU. you should know that on nicoclub, people are blowing those things up and another reason why anthony's car is still around is becuase his timing can afford to be advanced alittle becuase he has a built block with 9:1 compression. so his engine can afford to take a small hit if a glitch were to happen.

i know a guy name paul pretty well, he has a KA-T as well and hes blown up his semi built engine 4 times, the last time he threw a rod out the oil pan. he never played with timing and boosted to 13psi. he then swapped in a stock KA and he played it safe, and met up with anthony and used his techtom and checked that his timing was also at 15 degrees BTC at WOT, after he swaped from a auto to 5 speed. he then continued to run 13 psi and blew cylinder #2.

i wouldn't trust the computers own retardation either because i personally hooked my car up with a scan tool, and when i tested timing my car was also pulling back timing to 15 degrees BTC. when i went to advance it back to base timing on the distributer, the car started knocking when i opened her up, so i had to back off the timing again. its timing spikes like that for no reason at all, thats stopping me to wanting to run more boost on a stock ECU. thats why i'm waitin for everything to piece together and use the JWT ECU. when i put that in, i'm still goin to leave base timing at 17 degrees BTC, and hook a scan tool up to it, and see what the total timing advance is with the new ECU program. then if its safe like at 17 total or 19 total, i would advance my base timing back to 20 degrees.

also turbo2nr, when are you gettin the car man?!? buy my rims!!!

Re: One fell victim to the KA-T...

I know all about the ECU woes and such. I am running a BTM right now so timing isn't really an issue. I'll probably buy Anthony's Multichecker after I get my fuel stuff. I only want like 105mph-110mph in the quarter out of this engine. I will borrow a scan tool during tuning from a friend of mine.
