I used a hair dryer set on med/hot. Don't set it on the highest heat setting cuz it'll be too much. Or if it's really hot outside - leave the pieces in your car for about 10-15 minutes. I heated the front and the back just before i installed them.

Got the trim kit yesterday and installed it yesterday... my impressions, overall very good! It took me about 3 hours. Keep in mind I've never done anything like this before. The kit was okay to install thanks to Mythos' tips. I think I might've over bent the speedo part
, that place has twist, bends, and turns all over the place. There were somethings that I didn't like though...1) Around the shifter, cup holder, power outlet, I originally had wood trim there, and with the aluminum kit around it, looks kind of funny... ![]() 2) With the kit on, it kind of sticks up about 1-2mm... I know it's not much but on some parts it kind of looks funny, and when you run your hands from a part that doesn't have the trim, to a part that has the trim, it is kind of sharp and you'll notice a lot that it sticks out. Other than that, it looks GREAT! My friends said it looks very sophisticated yet sporty... I think with the white/silver gauges it'll look even better... I'll try to get pics up as soon as I can...

The center console part around the stick is detachable, so if your really concerned about it - you can order the one that came on the 99's - w/o the wood trim, from your dealer.

you may want to remove that whole piece...
take the whole shifter trim off (keep the aluminum on it though. take a permanent black marker and carefully cover the wood in black ink. if you do it nicely it will look OK and since the shifter trim was all shiney when it was stock, you can use rubbing alcohol to remove the black marker ink later on. my friend did this with his carbon fiber trim kit... you cant even tell.. |
