i've been going to bed at 1:00 and getting up at 6:00 for the past two years and it sucks but I just can't get to bed any earlier because I have lots of work and shit to do... And I usually don't quit till i'm ready to drop. there's been a few weeks already where I stay up for about 72 hours straight just to get shit done, problem with that is after going so long without sleep you start feeling like shit and in my case I started gettting sick to my stomach, and then you finally crash and you don't wake up for a day or two... very hectic.

Anyway you just need to not be so damn lazy and wake up after about 8 hours of sleep. The reason you may be sleeping so much is because if you sleep too much you will be just as tired as if you slept too little. Also taking vitamins or having a healthy diet really helps the sleep cycle. I found that if I took Calcium/magnesium/zinc vitamins and a multi-vitamin everyday after about a week of it I started getting much better rest, I was waking up refreshed and ready to start the day.

I learned about the C/M/Z combo from my grandmother when I was a sophmore in college. I had horrible insomnia and she told me to start taking vitamins well it worked and I starte dgetting great sleep afterwards.

Re: Sleeping too long?

I just woke up (12:30 noon)

I'd been working for my father for the past 6 months (to fill time between school), and had to wake up at 7am to be out the door by 7:15 every morning, I couldn't handle it. Every weekend I'd sleep like a bear in winter, and now I have been this whole week since I have it off. Taking me a long time to recover. Honestly though, if I go to bed at 12 and wake up at 7, I'm FAR more tired than if I go to bed at 3 and wake up at 10. Early mornings just screw me.

Knowing I need to get up doesn't change a thing. When I was in high school, the bus would arrive at 8:10, and it would take me 2 minutes to walk to the bus. I always had my alarm set for 7am, and constantly would not get out of bed until 8:05.....

Re: Sleeping too long?

I was a snooze alarm junkie for about 2 years, hitting the snooze for about 2 hours. Then one day got smart and decided that it would get me more sleep to set the alarm 2 hours later and just get up. The alarm was annoying, (one reason for hitting snooze) so set it to play music. Slept through the music a couple of times at first, but worked like a charm afterward.

Re: Sleeping too long?

i found that a 20 min nap in the middle of the day (you know that time right after lunch when you are the most tired) does wonders. i try to make it a part of my everyday routine.

I've actually never used my snooze button, I would just let the radio play while I laid there for an hour...

People are different. I found that the less sleep I get the more rested I feel the next day. I dont know why though. I used to go to bed around 10 and get up at 6:30. During school in the morning I would doze off. Also it took me a while just to even get out of bed. Now I got to bed around 11:30 or 12 and get up at 6:20. I can just jump out of bed and Im much more alert in the morning. I have no clue why. Maybe im

yeah, I had to wake up a SIX A.M for uni on mondays and friday, and 7 am for thursdays from last feb to may-ish, then 6am on mondays and 7 on wednesdays from august to november

I did it again today, set my alarm for 9:45, and my phone alarm to 10, my phone is on the other side of the room so it forces me to wake up, I do wake up and turn that alarm off, but I don't think, I just ...go back to bed?

The house got a phone calll at 12:10, it was my mate asking if my internet was working cause his wasn't, that's why I'm up so early *cough*

*yawns*

The same shit will happen tomorrow too.

The only thing sleeping late is good for is if you are going out that night, I had to get up a 6am on a friday for uni last may, I got home at 3, went straight to band prac till 5, then we packed up our shit and went to the gig we were playing at, left there at 11pm, went to a party, and i went to bed around 8am, geeeez. I haven't done that for a while.

However, if I NEED to be up at a certain time, I force my self up and I stay up, it's amazing, but if I don't have to be up, I don't think and just sleep all day long....

Re: Sleeping too long?

Haha I just remembered a friend of mine who could out-sleep anyone else I know...

One day he didn't show up to school. Since he was not the type to just skip we were all sort of curious regarding why he wasn't there. The next day, however, he showed up, and upon questioning why he had missed the previous day, he responded that he'd slept 36 hours by accident and missed the whole day
