Re: Cryo2

Actually I found a very cheap site where u can get the kit for $299.. It seems like Cryo2 is alot cheaper to Install then a water/alcohol kit. Also on a side note I read in many places that the Intercooler bar that sprays Co2 onto the intercooler cools the air by as much as 50%.. 50% is a big GAIN! And i saw a dyno sheet showing a 30WHP gain from using cryo2.

Hah! The only way you're going to see 50% cooler air with this thing is if you're running a huge turbo through a tiny, poor flowing, inefficient intercooler. I'm sure that's exactly what happened with the dyno you claim to have seen. Automotive advertising companies will do anything to put out "numbers" for their product. I guess that aem cold-air intake really does give a 15hp increase just like they claim

You seem to think water/alky injection is a complicated install. Not true at all. It's actually extremely easy to do... you know what, I'm tired of arguing my point with those who won't at least look up some of the points I'm trying to make here. I'll do that for you - http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/show...ater+injection Go there, read it. That should be more than enough proof that water injection owns every type of intercooler sprayer on the market.

I'll even give you a small quote from the link I posted... "For years I ran an "intercooler sprayer" where it sprayed on the outside of the intercooler. Let me tell you there's no comparison. Injecting inside the I/C (instead of on the outside of it) is like a night and day difference." Also, make sure to pay close attention to the logs of before and after that he posted. He went from peak timing of 11 degrees to having to lean out just to get it down to 23 degrees when using water injection! Knock went from 27 counts to 0. Same mods, basically the same tune (with the exception of having to lean it out, which is a GOOD thing).

it's not meant for just everyday driving, it's FOR those hot days at the tracks and it does work! like what was stated above, it cools the air as much as 50% which, correct me if i'm wrong, but would be a somewhat significant change. i don't currently run this, i'm just stating what i know about it from riding in a car that runs it.
it doesn't spray onto the intercooler, it's like a "nitrous application" because of how it's applied. It's sprayed INTO (meaning inside) the intercooler, causing a much more drastic change than just spraying it onto the outside.

The CO2 is NOT sprayed INTO the intercooler. It is sprayed on the outside of the intercooler. If it would be sprayed on the inside of the intercooler most, if not all, of your intake charge would be CO2. Gasoline CANNOT burn in a CO2 environment.

Re: Cryo2

actually the dyno sheet i saw was off a forum like this one.. A guy bought the system and tested it and posted in a Cryo2 thread so people could see how it really works and not how it claims to work.

gthompson97, it sounds like you've confused yourself. The co2 IS NOT SPRAYED INTO THE INTAKE PATH! That's why it will NEVER be as effective as water/alky injection. A typical water injection kit is only turned on when throttle reaches a certain %, so it's not like a constant spray into the intake path.

I just don't see why you people are trying to back this product? It's expensive as hell, and you most likely won't even notice the difference. In fact, I know of a couple locals (non-dsm) that ran home-made co2 intercooler sprayers that saw absolutely NO difference in performance! With water injection, the gains are almost GUARANTEED. Plus, water injection is cheaper. I know I probably sound like I'm advocating the purchase of a water injection kit for everyone, but I'm not. I'm simply trying to point out that this kit IS NOT what you hope it is. If you're going to back it so much, then waste your money on the damn thing and let us hear a review of the "50% cooler intake air!" .

I've yet to see any hard facts or evidence that this intercooler sprayer does what it claims (or any intercooler sprayer for that matter). It's just another gimmick that probably sounds good in theory, but is garbage in reality.
