Re: One of a kind model cars

Nice work. Im working on a scratchbuild myself. It takes a lot of time, and patience. I noticed you built your body out of wood, pretty cool. I'll be building mine out of steel.

Hope to see more.

It's cool to see someone else scratch building also. Instead of using steel, you might want to try sheets of copper or brass. Copper forms much easier, and you can solder it together easily. I just made a miniature engine stand from brass tubing and it's pretty strong. This would work great for a frame. Eventually I'm going to try either pounding body panels out of copper or try to vacuform them.

Someone on another board told me to check out Gerald Wingrove. He does basically what you're doing, very impressive. I can't wait to see the progress on yours.

Keep it up.

Yea, everyone continues to suggest copper, brass, among other materials. I do steel forming/fabrication fairly often, so I figured I'd build it out of steel. Plus I love the way it looks in progress. I guess Im stubborn too.

To see my progress thus far, click my sig. Unfortunately theres not much right now. Its going extremely slow. If I go any slower I'll be going in reverse.

Cant wait to see progress of your future builds.
