lol I dont know if 8k would even be enough...but anyway NOOOO don't stick with the Probe..in my 5 years of car "enthusiasm" the Ford Probe is by far the worst car to own...mechanically that is...I like how they look but i've never heard of one lasting or without problems (except maybe the older turbo's I heard were ok)...go import, usually cant go wrong w/ Acura/Honda/Toyota...something like a Prelude or Integra should get you through just fine until you can get a VR4...if you don't like the import scene...I always recommend an 87-92 5.7L 350 Firebird/Camaro, I think everyone should experience the 350....I can't let go of mine yet. Run's close to the first gen VR4 in 1/4...but obviously no one will look twice at it like they would the VR4

Re: does this seem like a good deal/insurance

hey, 8k would def be enough to beat a stock vr-4
new KLZE engine w/ forged internals, and the works for around 3k and turbo with all the goodies for around 4k then the extra 1k for exhaust, and intake, fuel pump, and injectors! haha, and that would beat a vr-4 :P but like you said, probe's are not relibale at all. thanks, i gotta see what happens

I would definitely recommend the Prelude. The car drives great and has a nice feel to it as well. The Prelude community on Automotiveforums is also fantastic so any questions that you have will be answered by knowledgable people (for the most part). My brother owns a probe and my insurance is actually lower than his (when I had my lude) so you might want to consider that as well.

I dont know if this thread is alive anymore but i read that someone got quoted at 3500 a year? Damn, im 20 and got quoted on a 94 vr4 for 2600 a year. Im on my own plan, have 5 tickets so far and had a claim on my insurance. I owned a 99 Grand AM GT and was paying 1300 every 6 monthsfor full converage. I gues my insurance company is odd i guess. I want a vr4 since my buddy has a 92 vr4. I just have to sell my Ranger first. Anyone want to buy a 2000 Ranger 4x4?? only 60k on her

Re: does this seem like a good deal/insurance

There are a dozen threads on insurance and a section in the FAQ...

Please don't bring back old threads...thread closed

If you want to sell your Ranger you can start a thread about it in the Classified section

And welcome to AF

-15Gs, 3sx aluminum pulley, FMIC, SAFC, walboro pump, EVO 560ccs, and Meth Injection Kit all waiting to go in shortly.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
