Re: plates

Who cares, i've gotten that ticket 3 times, and everytime I go to court, I just tell the DA I put the license plate on the front and they give me an ACD (drop it). I keep my front plate in the glove box, i'm in NY btw. I had a cop pull me over and when he saw the plate in the glove box he was like "whats that plate in there??" and I was like "oh I need a special bracket to put it on, i'm going to the dealer to order it " and he let it go. There's no way i'm ever drilling holes into this car....

But if you must put it on...use coat hangers and put it in the bumper "mouth" at an angle, then you don't have to damage your car and it won't look too bad.

Re: plates

i took my front plate off too, and it's in my hatch. i've been warned 2 times for it, and I just say it's broke and I have to order a part for it.

Re: plates

the way the plate mounts on the car...there's no drilling required. if you look at the mounting bracket pics i posted: that mounts to the crash bar, then another plastic bracket mounts to it, then the plate mounts to the plastic mount. the plastic mount fits in the bumper mouth and rests atop the bumper itself.

ya it doesn't look cool to have a front plate, but i'd rather just be safe than pull something outta my ass every time a cop pulls me over or asks me a question about not having a front plate. saves me a lot of hassle of being pulled over, talkin to the cop, and going to court.

think about it....a few bucks and sacrifice some aesthetics OR a little hassle every once in a while?

I also have a mount for a plate. Fortunately we don't need to have a front plate in Michigan.

Re: plates

I think they clash with the car, especially second gens. The cop I talked to about it was very little help and didn't know how to get around it.

Re: plates

Yeah i'll take the little bit of hassle over the aesthetics personally. I hate having to put a plate on the front of my cars, ruins the look of most cars. The only reason I mentioned drilling is because on the bumper theres 2 little spots, like "X" marks, for drilling holes. They almost started to drill them out when I bought it from the dealer. I was like "woah wtf are you doing? stop that! give me that plate!".
