Re: Squeaky Wheels?

I had a squeaking noise when I first bought my truck it turned out to be the dust shield. I removed it saw where it was rubbing bent it out a little and never had the noise again

Re: Squeaky Wheels?

You're right, I replaced my shocks and settling &
clunking gone. Squeaking is something slightly
scraping inside hub part of new rotor. Maybe it
will go away. Thanks

You're right, I replaced my shocks and clunking went away. The
squeaking looks like it is the edge of the brake pad or something
rubbing on the hub part of the new rotor. I messed with it a bit
and threw some graphite powder on it and it's better. I expect
that whatever is rubbing will eventually wear down and stop squeaking.
Thanks for the reply.

wheel bearings in a long time. Let me know if you need more
info and I'll see what I can do. Thanks!
I have had the same problem with my 1996 GMC 1 Ton Dually, thought it was the brakes, bearings, u-joints, etc. Finally found out that the factory chrome wheel stimulators on the front were turning and making the noise. Removed them and left them off till I get new ones. No more noise...
Hope this helps,
Ron
