heres a good site to learn about turboing a d-series. Your going to need to do a lot of reading if you really want to know what your doing. Its not too complicated or anything, its just nice to be able to understand everything about it so that you can do whats most beneficial for your application and know how to do it safely, keeping it reliable.

Re: d15 turbo 1

why dont you put an a6 head on that d15. it would flow a lot better and the cam would really help you get the hp you want. and the turbo i would go with a t25 (2ng gen eclipse) or a 14b (1st gen 5spd eclipse) use hf manifold, with adapter plate, you could do an eclipse side mount intercooler, with an fmu, stcok injectors, use the turbos internal wastegate and run about 6-7 psi your car would make around 170ish hp and be quick on the street. anything more on a d15 and you will need better rods and better fuel managment like safc or the best would be turboedit and chipped ecu. check out xenecron on here for more info on that he can hook u up.

Re: d15 turbo 1

my plan was to run the std manifold, thats what i have on my car now, plus i have acsess to a machine shop, well 2 of them, my dad runs one and my step dad owns a mechanic shop and he has all the equiptment to build engines, so thats not the hard part, just finding all the parts i need for a good price because im on a budgit right now, but i still want to make my car faster than what it is now. i also need to look for a mpfi kit for a really cheap price. well would a 89 integra intake work on my car and also the ecu, reister box, etc???? please let me know, i heard the intake will work, but needs some work to fit right or something like that and if so i can do that without a prob. thanx guys

Re: d15 turbo 1

a6 is from 88-91 civic/crx si, ex bolts right on to your car and basically makes it an si motor. you need to do part of the mpfi conversion and get the whole head and intake manifold and dizzy if you can cause you need all those parts to make it real easy. then wire it all up, wiht a resistor box and your done. Yea Homemadeturbo.com is the shit!

Re: d15 turbo 1

but why would i need the whole head?? i have been told by many people its the same head with a differnt cam in it. is that true. also i know alot about the mpfi swap, did hours of reading and have guide lines of the wiring already. just need to get the parts.

Re: d15 turbo 1

Def go with a smaller turbo like the TD04 as you dont have a lot of torque. Becareful as well because those D15 rods are only pencil thick!

Re: d15 turbo 1

the intake/dizzy will not work from an 89 teg to do mpfi. the ecu and resistor box would though.

Re: d15 turbo 1

hmm i had a ihi-rhb5 turbo off a probe/mx-6. There not super small, but pretty small. I must say they spool up real fast. They will also help in the torque department.

Yeah if you want to go with a a6 head(the best flowing sohc head, as people say) you would need to get a new head, the valve cover can be reused as well as the plug wires and such.
