Re: SLP WS6 vs SuperCharged G35 Coupe

A WS.6 with a chip..........right........they don't get chips.

Sounds like that G35 is a heavy mofo, because at most that WS.6 with those mods would make 340 RWHP. AT MOST.

Re: SLP WS6 vs SuperCharged G35 Coupe

WAIT.........

SLP WS.6???? So it was an LT1 bird?? That would explain the chip. Did it have the front end like in my sig?
The LS1 WS.6's are 1998-2002, and weren't done by SLP.

Re: SLP WS6 vs SuperCharged G35 Coupe

The G35 should have beaten either one, but I guess the chip story doesn't add up.

Not a good running slightly modded LS1 car. It would have been as close as he said.

Really? They run low 12s, maybe high 11s lightly modded?

Re: SLP WS6 vs SuperCharged G35 Coupe

A stock LS1 with sticky tires can run a 12.9. An otherwise stock LS1 with sticky tires and a $100 air lid will run a 12.7.

I would like proof that a charged 380 RWHP G35 is running that.
My experience has been what I posted. Lightly modded LS1 car and a charged G35 make for a really close race. Not sure personally, never ran one.

Re: SLP WS6 vs SuperCharged G35 Coupe

Hey guys,
Just got in.

the WS6 has some work done to it. There is an SLP badge on the left side I believe - check the vid and see if you can notice it...if not...I know it's there anyway. He just got the car used from a dealership about a week ago. All they said is that it has a chip, exhaust, and intake...so if there is a package for them I guess it's on there. The guy has said he beat another WS6 by a car or two - I was NOT there for this...but I don't know much about the T/A's so....you tell me?

G35 Coupes weight more than the Sedans...we are not light. A stock, manual G35C can run around 13.8-14.0 in the 1/4 with 230-245ish whp.

That's all I know...wish the video was better...but that's all I have...

They'll do mid 12s with a cam swap.

G35 Coupe - ATI Procharger, biult engine. Dynoed at 383 to the wheels at 5.5 PSI.
383 rwhp @ 5.5 psi?? Ain't buying it
That works out to 142rwhp from 5.5 psi on an V6.

A Vortech V-9 G-Trim @ 6PSI for the LS-1 will only give a 100wrhp gain. The ATI P-1SC-1 ProCharger will yield the same at 5PSI (intercooled). There is no way an engine with less displacement and similar compression ratio will yield more HP from the same amount of boost (physically impossible).

Maybe your friend meant 383 fwhp. That would put him at 325.5rwhp which is about 85rwhp more than you put down stock and seems attainable for a 5.5 psi intercooled V6 kit.

The 325rwhp number is also what lightly modded LS-1 F-bodys put down (i.e. LID,exhaust, and LS6 intake <for pre-01 models>). If your friend was really putting down 383 he would've put several carlenghts on him by 110.

The fact that they ran so close leads me to believe that the fwhp number was more acurate because the cars weigh within 100 lbs of each other.

In any case, sounds like a great run. I can't download the video now but will try again later.
