Re: What does NASCAR stand for

I dont think it is an ahtletic sport but you do have to be very fit. Has anybody seen an overweight person in nascar? I think not.

Lmao love it! Im an Formula one Fan all the way hehe.

I went to a nascar race once because of my uncle. Feel a sleep in the 4th lap woke up on the last 9 lol. 400 lap race got quite a bit of sleep. Then I went to the F1 in Indy an man was I awake. 225mph off the strait @ 19K can wake you up.

Post Re: Re: What does NASCAR stand for

i really beleive that all nascar drivers are athletes but i dont really feel that it takes alot of skill to drive a car, those cars are made to run equal, so if u think about it its really actually a skill more than a sport, i do how ever respect any ones opinion on this subject, i beleive that this is a very good subject to talk about, u guys can say any thing u want to say about my opinion and i respect that, this is my opinion and i hope every 1 can respect mine like i do theirs.

Re: What does NASCAR stand for

I think that it is funny that more people think that Nascar is more of a sport than cycling (think Lance Armstrong) just because they haven't ever tried it. I have raced my car and my bike, and I assure you the the latter was much harder.

i think i could finish a race....i run a couple miles a day and lift wieghts...and don't you dare tell me that fatass tony stewart is an athlete....gimme a break... ...and i rode my old kawasaki on a track for two hours or so a couple times a month.....i'm sure if i can handle that i can handle nascar....if you want to talk about endurance racing you should talk about Le Mans....nascar doesn't even come close to needing the endurance of those dudes...

How about those guys from australia that race sidecars. Poor guys have to climb back and forth all over the back of the bike every time they go around a corner.

Re: What does NASCAR stand for

Anyone who posted in here that thinks they can get into a Nextel Cup car and run with the likes of Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon or Tony Stewart (who is in no way fat, I have met him in person and he's actually very fit read: muscular) slap yourself right now because you have no concept of reality. Unlike any other sport racing in this case NASCAR doesn't have timeouts, or halftime, or two minute warnings, or quarters, or periods. There are no breaks. Endurance racing is hard, as hard as Nascar, but it's not harder due to the fact that drivers switch off every couple of hours, and the racing isn't nearly as close for nearly as long. Cup cars weight about 3400lbs, have over 800lb-ft of torque and are so aerodynamically sensitive that the slightest mistake at almost 200mph results in a crash. But hey who I am to judge clueless inexperienced teenage drivers about their racing knowledge/abilities in comparison to professionals who have devoted their entire lives to the sport they compete in?
