I can't spend that much money right now and i'm not looking for a lot of power. I am thinking of building up my D16 and turboing it. I am looking at 200 whp for my goal and over that would just be a bonus. I don't know how possible that is, but i am going to try.

I would have to join turboekhatch, get the LS motor. It's cheap as hell and with the money you save build a turbo kit or get one for that matter. The LS is a great motor to turbo, and highly underestimated. If you are set on a Vtec motor, get the GSR. The GSR is tons faster then the B16 and well worth the extra money. Then race the guy with the B16 motor and he'll wish he got the GSR.

Re: More Bang for the Buck!

i say if u want a new car u go for a 1999 civic si or try and find a integra type r
but if u want a enige both of them r good. my friend got 448whp off a gsr engine at 17psi but i am sure u could buiild i b16 to about that too if u wanted too its all about how much money u want to spend on your engine but the b18s have more torque but not that much moreif your not going to be doing n e serise racing a b16 should be fineplus with the extra money u could build it up to be more powerifully than a b18

Re: More Bang for the Buck!

u know, u can do a lotta kewl things w/a d-series.... goin all motor isnt so expensive w/tha d-series, no huge hp... but i guess if tht's not what u want. check out GUDE (Bullfrog) or Toda head packages.... my friend got a GUDE head for his 1.6L SOHC ZC (a d-series) and now pulls on most b16's (he also has individual throttle bodies) - - check out all goin all motor d-series.... could be tite good luck!!! keep me updated!!! (other wise maybe a b16 turbo... do it rite n u'll pull on Vipers!)
