Re: What octane do you run your 7?

You can get away with 87 in a turbo model as long as you stay out of the boost. But of course it's tempting to rev high

Re: What octane do you run your 7?

Yes, it is tough to stay out of boost, until you figure that it'll only manage 11mpg at best under full boost.

Gosh MD, you're so right. It is vvverrry tempting to rev high. So i guess from now on, ill start putting 89 or 91 in my T2. Well i guess it all depends huh. If im low on cash, ill probably get 87. Oh yeah, how many people in here think the Tornado is great for your car.

Re: What octane do you run your 7?

Durrrrrrr what's a 10th anniversary? Is it a cake of some sort?

Beautiful car. It's nothing compared to the FD3S A-Spec, but it's pretty damn good looking.

yeah i wish i had a 10th ann....leather seats are so comfortable.

oh yeah today was the last day i would run 87 octane in the T2, i swear. Today was pretty damn cold for being in florida...32 degrees was our low. Well i ran it up today and of course, being that it was cold, it would not start perfectly and would kinda sputter while i was going, so i didnt care tooo much about that. After i pulled the keys out, my car was clicking like a biootch. I hate that noise. So from here on out, its 89 or 91! Thanks for all you guys inputs

definately use the highest available. im sure u could get away with anything, but why settle? if there is only 89 available, i would suggest some octane booster from pepboys.

yeah, mine started on the second crank too, and i feel sorry for you guys up north. After all the hurricanes and what not, we got the better end of the deal. Anyway, i got my T2 pretty decked out. I'm not going to list all my mods on here but your 2.5 will seem like a little toilet paper roll compared to my 3 in. dual pipes.

Re: What octane do you run your 7?

I have an 89 NA that will be running on 93 octane... with a V8 engine under the hood.

Re: What octane do you run your 7?

Yeah the 2.5 isn't going to be staying for long after I get the 13bt rebuilt but it's big enough for a N/A engine.
We had really nice weather about a week ago, was about 60 degrees at night and high 60's low 70's during the day then all of a sudden it went cold

Out of curiousity... What mods to the pushrod engine are going to require you to run 93? Or is that just personal preference?

yeah fc same here...good weather then cold weather. Im pretty sure cold weather over here in florida means jeans and a t shirt for you up north.lol. Hmmm.. i personally dont get why you did a v8 swap in an rx7. Isnt that what alot of people love about these cars? the fact that they're rotaries? They would be pretty quick though. And the tornado is a waste of money? Interesting because they rave about it so much on tv. lol
