they should just make it like the inner-city fund, cause actually there is the occasional white guy I remember watcing this video somebody made for a rapper that died, Big L from Harlem. 103 and Lennox (i think that's it) is where he got shot, it's like one of the most dangerous parts of the harlem, and he used to always hang around a basketball court there. Well when i was watchin this thing where they talked to all of big Ls friends there, there were 2 white guys all thugged out juss chillin, and they were all friends...... i was shocked

same with a white rapper named remedy, i think he lived in queens... and he was the drug dealer for wu-tang, now he raps for them

i feel a government controled organization should step in and distribute the funding to those that need it, such as poorer kids that could make it real big in life if they were just able to afford a college education, and funding to those that perform top 5% of their class. the funding should not be distributed by who and what you are, but by what you can do.

The trouble with this kind of fund is that they get hijacked by the legal industry.Here in NZ, us Maori(I can legally claim to be a Maori but realistically speaking am 7/8 Pakeha)were given a big chunk of fisheries rights to settle an outstanding treaty debt.
That was several years ago,the lawyers have been squabbling about who gets what ever since, and the board of trustees get a big salary while the people who should really be benefiting have seen zip.

this is the same way i feel about the NAACP, they have long outlived their intended purpose and are nothing more then a way for black people to get anything they want

here in baltimore if you are black you get anything and everything for free, frees food free housing, free job where you cant be fired it just pisses me off

Yeah here in NZ we have whats called the Treaty of Waitangi. It was written when the english colonised NZ. It stated the Maori (local people) were entitled fishing and land rights, and all sorts of other things. That was a couple hundred years ago or however long. It is still used today by activist Maori to demand things. "We have a Treaty we are entitled this". I'm not saying all Maori are like this, I know a few who could really give a sh*t. Personally, and I don't intent to offend anyone from NZ by this, but the treaty should be burned and forgotten about. If you look at what happened in the US with the Native Americans, the Maori got off lightly when NZ got colonised.

you can have all black colleges.. funds for blacks only.. even for hispanics only. but those don't get ridculed. BUT if you were to have an all white school or an all white fund, it gets labeled as being racist.. to me that's a double standard. I personally don't care if there is an all white or an all black school/college fund, but the double standard does bother me..

I personally am very offended and quite often angered by racsism and bigotry, however, I find it quite absurd that if I was a business owner I could be sued for not hiring a black person if they applied for a job with my company. Now personally speaking, I wouldn't care what color they were as long as they were qualified, but suppose I didn't want to hire them because of their race. Shouldn't the right to free speech and free thought include the right to be ignorant and biased? I don't think the government has a right to dictate which biases are ok and which biases are not.It's ridiculous! You can be "open minded" and "speak freely" as long as you think exactly like they want you to.It's kind of funny really, you're considered open minded as long as you're views are liberal, but otherwise you're a closed-minded right wing activist. Who's closed-minded now? I'm waaaay off topic so I'm going to stop.

Huh? What are you talking about? There are plenty of all-white schools. Ever heard of BYU, Idaho, even Texas A&M? There is no double standard. Black colleges came about simply because of all-white institutions of higher education didn't allow miniorities to attend. They are still about today because there is still racism at the university level. And don't give me the crap about having BET and Univision, being that ABC, NBC, and CBS are basically W.E.T. except for when they show "Roots" and the Latin Grammys. Face the facts, whites (aside from California) are the majority in the US. That being said, it has been proven that diversity enhances ones educational experience. So of course universities want to provide minorities, who would not otherwise go to college, the opportunity to attend via grants and scholarships. And contrary to popular belief it is hard to get these scholarships and they are not handed out just because you show that you are a certain race. That's just plain BS and an urban legend. And many people say they dont care, but the fact is people do. They feel slighted, and they spread lies like the ones we see here. They tell their friends that they didn't get a job because they weren't black, they say they didn't get a scholarship because they weren't black and then they say it they aren't racist and it doesn't bother them in the next sentence.

Furthermore, the comment about blacks in the Baltimore area is pile of crap. I won't go as far as to say it is racist, but there is no truth to it whatsover. The whole welfare system is set up to help out people who ARE POOR, are single/new mothers, or are struggling and is not based on race. Now if many black people in the B-More fit that criteria, then thats how you get your facts all skewed. Then again the Baltimore/ DC area also has the richest black communities in the US...so I guess they must be getting free money too?
