Yup, this is going to look great. I am big fan of the pro-tour look. Can't wait to see this finished.

Primer is on and motor is near complete.

This is my first try at wiring a motor, it has its flaws.

Re: Latest Project: 64 Impala Pro-tour Styles

the wires look a tad big. IMO but not overwhelming. What do you plan on doing for exhaust? I HIGHLY recommend giving the solder method a go. I swear by it since i tried it. lol. I use .062 solder. got a decent size roll from radio shack.

Spent the past couple weeks laying the paint. I started with Motomaster sandable primer, then put down a nice smooth coat of Testors #1246 Met. silver. The silver was let to dry for about a week, I then rubbed the paint down with some kraft paper. The kraft paper acts a very smooth sand paper, its a trick I picked up at one of my summer jobs when we got clearcoat over spray on finished furniture. I then put down a nice coat of Testors #1629 red metal flake. The paint was laid down last Saturday and is dry enough that I can handle it without fear.

On with the pics.

just regular old brown paper bag kraft paper. Just rub it like sand paper and it removes very fine and soft imperfections, crumple it up and it gets more aggresive.

Mike.
