Well, you just said "GTO" so when it comes down to it I'd much rather have a GTO Judge over a WS6.
Remember, you didn't say which GTO, so I'm picking The Judge.
If you're meaning the 2005 then I'll probably go with the WS6.

Re: Would you own....GTO, WS6?

black WS6 6spd...Mm. The only bad things are the 10 bolt rearend, the cheap interior and the passenger side floor hump. GTOs are ugly, heavy, slow, did I mention ugly?

They never were, it's ludicrous to even think of the car as slow, especially since it's only a whisker slower than most F Bodies.

We indeed are. Whether it's a 2004 or 2005 being compared is another question......

I'll take the 2005 LS2 GTO please - over a brand new 2002 top of the line 345hp SLP WS-6 (or even Firehawk - same shit). As much as I hate the fact the GTO looks like a bloody Cavalier from the side (and an older GTP from the front), its still a wicked car with a now totally bad ass 400hp six-point-OH! Plus, I simply love the interior and the massive front seats. Thats one beef I had with the later style LS1 Trans Am seats after GM dipped into the spare parts bin and started using those crappy Grand Prix perfo-stich leather seats with the stupid ass hollow square headrests (I've had 2 GTP's with those seats so when I saw them in the T/A's for the first time it really turned me off).

Besides, if I ever go for an LS1 its going to be a C5 project.

Re: Would you own....GTO, WS6?

GTO for me. i like them both but like Jimster said, the WS6 was overstyled. the GTO is a sheek pallate (sp?) and if i chose to, an aggressive kit on a GTO will look better than a WS6 to me since its so contrasted with the natural lines. interior wise is no contest, GTO. the WS6 was the top trim but give them time to perfect the chasis/suspension on the GTO and we may see a better version. thats like comparing a LS1 camaro (WS6) to a GT Stang' (GTO) instead of Cobra.

Re: Would you own....GTO, WS6?

I lost respect for the new GTO when I saw the autos running 14s and the manuals doing high 13s. Not to mention it doesn't look like much at all. I barely even notice them.

Re: Would you own....GTO, WS6?

not everyone gets a car to be noticed and as far as times go, im a pretty good driver and hardly ever go off of numbers published by mags/manufacturers, even when they say its a professional driver. ive seen stock cars shave almost a second off from "professionals".

I agree that the GTO is more comfortable, better interior quality, and has better ride characteristics. But as far as handling goes the Trans Am (WS-6) is a better performance car. When you say "boot", I'm assuming you mean the trunk. The american version of the Holden has less room in the trunk than my storage compartment in my hatch. They had to move the fuel tank to meet american safety standards so the trunk is 1/3 the original size.

When my TA dies or when I decide to put it in storage, I'll be getting a new GTO with the LS2 and the T-56 transmission.

HAHAHA, as much as I love them, I have to agree with this guy. But I heard that those 1LE F-Body's handle pretty superb. Dont know how they stack up with other late 90's-00's sports cars though.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Would you own....GTO, WS6?

The base V8 F-Body's were always mid-.80g cars, and the heavily optioned (SLP, 1LE etc...) versions were up around .90g cars. There's nothing wrong with that. Might not be up with the leading new cars of today but in the grand scheme of things they're better than alot of the other so called "sports cars" out there.

Now give me my cookie bitch(es)!

Re: Would you own....GTO, WS6?

I would buy an F-Body for the handling. Get a V6 model with the performance/handling package and put the money you saved on the V8 model into the suspension.
