Re: greddy type s

You dont need to hook that up but if you want you can hook it up to the turbo outlet or an IC pipe and what it does is it helps the BOV respond and release faster...

Most people use them if you cant get the BOV soft enough, like you have the screw all the way out but yet the spring is still to stiff!

Re: greddy type s

wouldn't that make the car jerk more if it release to quick? When i removed the dump tube from the stock bov and drove it was pretty harsh. I put a 3 liter bottle cap on the end and clamped it down with 2 holes and i made it much easier to switch gears. but now it sounds like the ssq from hks

Re: greddy type s

You put a bottle cap on the outlet of the BOV?

Put your dump tube back on! There is a reason its there in the first place, the reason your car is running shitty is because you are venting!

Re: greddy type s

I'll try it but it jerks really hard when i have it on almost like when you hit fuel cut, but that is only when i switch gears. Well i just went out and tested it out i made my car slower, it only pushes 14 psi instead of 16. I don't think that I need it on there.

Re: Re: greddy type s

Hey guys,

Didn't want to start a new thread, so thought I'd post here. After reading that I would need a flange and adapter kit to make the greddy type S bov fit on my stock UICP and from the advice of Jake and others in this forum about replacing the UICP, I've decided to buy the greddy type S bov and new UICP. I found an intercooler piping kit on ebay which is flanged for the greddy type s (link here )

I have the stock SMIC in my car. Do you guys think that ebay pipe kit will work or should I go with dejontool or something else? The ebay one seems to be the best value and it doesn't seem like there's much of difference in these pipes compared to the other brand name ones except the price. I e-mailed the seller and he says "the 90degree pipe is about 3", the rest two is about 2.3".

Replacing the intercooler pipes doesn't look too difficult. How long did it take you guys to replace them?

Re: greddy type s

That ebay pipe doesn't seem like that much of a bargain. There is a guy named Brode that makes them, which I have in one of my cars. In the other, I'm using an RRE upper pipe.. and of course, dejon tool is another great company. The brode piece is only, what, $80?

Contacted Dave Brode yesterday and he said he doesn't make the entire UICP (no "S" pipe). He charges $76 shipped for the lower portion of the UICP and I think $8 for a flange to adapt to the greddy type S. The ebay one is for the entire UICP. I'm checking the dejontool and rre pipes to see what the price difference is. Been hearing a few bad experiences from other with the ebay pipes. Is anyone here using them?
