Re: unlocking radio

Dude you should hear yyourself speak you sound like a moron.

MAYBE IF I SAY IT SLOW IT WILL SINK IN. IF YOU PUT THE CODE IN 3 TIME THE RADIO LOCKS YOU OUT. YOU CANNOT ENTER ANY MORE CODES IT WON'T LET YOU. YOU THEN NEED TO UNLOCK IT OR FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING RESET IT SO YOU NEED TO UNPLUG POWER TO THE RADIO IN ORDER TO DO IT.

If you read the first post which is what this is all about. The guy put the code in and now the radio is locked so he wanted to know how to put the right code in.

Follow so far?

As for the code its not on the back of the radio the serial number is on the back wich is what is needed to get the code.

So you just can't read.

Re: unlocking radio

To explain in english. If you blow the code, it's true, you can't try again RIGHT THEN. But as Smeee said (I think) all you have to do is wait WITH THE IGNITION SWITCHED TO AUX AND THE RADIO OFF (1/2 hour if I recall correctly) before trying again.

Re: unlocking radio

whatever dude, i guess possibly if you unplug the battery and pull a fuse that would work.....?? i dunno, i do know that just undoing the battery doesnt do anything for this problem. And you never stated the whole fuse thing earlier soooo thas the first i have ever heard of that.....

WOW, I'm so happy I have the right code for my radio. LOL

If it were me. I'd do it the way the dealer says. If you enter the security code 3 times and it doesn't work, it will automatically lock you out of the option preventing you from trying to enter the code again. That's there so you can't continuously try to enter the code untill you get the right code. What should be done is disconnect the battery for 15-30 minutes. I say 30 minutes just to be on the safe side. Who knows, it could take no longer than 5 minutes or it may be instant once you disconnect the battery. Also, removing the radio fuse, or disconnecting the radio may work, but so you don't waste time, I'd go straight to the main power source.
Now obviously, if you entered the code three times and it didn't work, you have the wrong code. Get the serial number from the back of the radio, take that along with your registration to a Honda dealer, and get the correct code.
Someone said the code may be on the fuse box or something, not saying that person is wrong cause I don't know. I just haven't seen it. Probably cause I wasn't looking for it at that time I was in that area. LOL
