if I were you I would go get an amp and use the RCA pre outs. My head unit hasn't had an internal amp in 3 years and she is still running strong with the amp in the trunk.

Re: Did I Fry my Deck??
That is what i plan on doing...if you read the posts before this (idk if you did) but someone suggested that already and you seconded it so now i am for sure going to do that. I just have to wait until Monday until my partner in crime...Andrew, the guy that helped me fry my deck...comes back to town after his hockey tournament.

Re: Did I Fry my Deck??
ok first of, did you check the fuse in the deck? is it blown, if so change that first.. then check.. The fuses on the amo, if they blow, thats usually because you would have blown your out put chip(s) in the amp. On your deck, when you try to reverse your speakers, you surge the output chips in your deck.. WHich are connected to the built in amp of your deck. Its al about chain reaction. Lots can blow, some can blow.. You just don't know until you get inside the deck.
I worked at an installation and repair shop and seen lots of dumb stuff come in from doing something wrong. RCA's also by the way, will probably not work as all the output is connected to the same capacitors and crap and well, not to get technical.. See what happens for ya! Good luck |
