u can always use a radar detector like this just as soon as you have been detected doing 65 in a 50 foot flat on the floor and make yo way up to 200

this would be ideal but A) you need a highly modded skyline
B) a huge wad of cash for the fuel
C)stupidity seems to overide this arguement

Radar detectors do work great, if the cop is just sitting there with his radar on. You have plenty of time to slow own before he can get a aacurate reading. Mine has saved me numerous times. It was well worth the money spent.

Here is a place that sells jammers:

The phantom is really the only good one I have heard of. And like I said in my previous post. They are perfectly legal.

I have a cobra radar detector that i got at best buy for $100 and it works amazing. It gets 360 degree lidar and radar protection. if the lidar goes off, you're already screwed, but the radar detecting function has more than paid for the detector 10x over. they're not great for the city, but on the open highway, it's totally worth it. And as someone who is good friends with a cop, i can tell you that the best tip to avoid at ticket when you get hit with radar is DON'T HIT THE BRAKES. This makes the front end dip, and even if the cop doesn't know for sure you were speeding, he does now. They look for that, so just let off the gas and let the car slow down on its own.

hey jewbacca02, what kind of cobra detector do you have? Since you are pleased with it, and it is cheap, I'm thinking about getting one. How often do you get false alerts in the city and highway? And thanks for the tip about the brakes...I had never thought about that.

The best time to test out a new engine, is NOT the afternoon you pick the car up, you drive like a Grandma at that time.

Sit at home, watch TV until in the wee hours of the morning, such as
2-4AM. Make sure this is a Tuesday - Wednesday morning.

Then pick a long stretch that's not a major road where the cops
won't be sitting and go.

That's what i did with my Aunt when she had her Lancia, and we had
no problems.

I don't know the model number on it, but it's the one that is one step below the talking one - the voice on that thing is annoying as hell. If you run the detector in city mode while you're in the city, there are hardly any false alarms... unless you pass a Walgreens.
