Re: Re: Modeling equipment list

Its funny how i only use almost half of the things mentioned You really don't need all those things if your building a kit straight out of the box. BBQ Lighter??!??!?!

EDIT: Add Food Dehydrator (for speeding up paint process)
Airbrush (for custom paints)

I just had to pack up all the modeling supplies I'm taking home to finish the TSS and build a TA for a friend, so I made a full inventory while I was at it (no particular order):

1. Jeweler's pliers
Curved:

Round nose:

Long nose:

Flat Nose:

Clippers:

2. Tweezers
I also have a variety of tweezers with tips similar to the pliers, my mom bought me a set for Christmas last year at Hobby Lobby. Can't find any good pictures though.

3. Dremel
Here's the one I have:

4. Eye protection when using Dremel (VERY IMPORTANT)

5. Xacto knife set

6. Superglue, testors orange model glue (that nontoxic stuff sucks!)

7. For painting: Krylon Primer, Turtle Wax rubbing and polishing compounds, Meguiars Cleaner Wax, Duplicolor truck van & SUV clearcoat. polishing cloths, sandpaper

8. Scotch/3M blue tape

9. Clothespins

10. Soft-bristled Toothbrush

11. brake fluid for stripping paint

12. punching bag (see #11)

13. Beading wire

14. Styrene-sheet, rod, hexagonal, whatever. It will all be used.

15. This site

16. eBay - best source for 1:1 pictures--people selling cars tend to take many detailed pictures of any angle a modeler will need

17. Thread in all colors and needles

18. Some kind of small saw

19. Pin Vice

ImolaEK, hahaha the bbq lighter is to light up your model if it doesn't turn out nice .

ToyTundra, I'll concider making a list of a first aid, but I think that might be a bit too much if you know what I mean, I still want to keep this list for modeling

Thanks so far everyone for posting, more tools would be acceptable, but if you would like to start posting some pictures of those tools and describtions of each tool, it could be great help.

Just go to any of the online stores and search for the items:

http://www.towerhobbies.com
http://www.micromark.com
http://www.hlj.com

And, please don't revive any more 4 year old threads unless absolutely necessary
