To think that I ever had any respect for you as a tuner.

you just build your own Kit or buy the Greddy. It comes with an Exemption Order.

well you get lag because the turbo needs to build up pressure in the intercooler thats why bigger and smaller turbos lag at different RPMs so by tightening the BOV to keep the pressure in and not let it out at 2,000-2,5000 like most turbos do it would keep the pressure in better and would reduce the lag , wouldnt it?

i thought having 6 feet of intercooler pipes is bad. damn!! i having 6 feet of exhuast manifold is worse. sorry GT but this is the dumbest idea i've seen. it reminds me of someone who asked about how a car would be if it was a rear engien front wheel drive.

anywas the best way to hide a turbo is to use a equal lenght turbo manifold with a low mounted turbo. then the manifold would just look like a header and the turbo is practically invisible.

you see this? no turbo in site
http://www.240sxforums.com/projectrp...s//Engine3.JPG

heres a upclose pic of it, still no turbo in site even if your looking for it.
http://www.240sxforums.com/projectrp.../manifold4.JPG

hahaha front wheel drive rear engine LOL!!! common this post isnt as bad as that one is it?!! lol!! but hey its something that has been done before so its not like it hit me yesterday out of the blue ... and you boost the PSI some to let it push out as much HP is if it was in the engine compartment...

and yea you cant see the turbo on that SR, its the best way to mount the turbo at the bottom compared to top and keep it away from all the locations that need to be kept from heat.

They are if they have an excuse like exhaust or something, my friend got pulled over and the cop looked under the hood because he has exhaust... bunch of bull!! Cali sucks as far as modding...

They dont make greddy turbos for the 240s that are CARB legal... see all you guys out there, i dont know who of you are from Cali and who isnt, but i am... and smog regulations, visual passing crap, cops and everything, it makes it impossible something to do anything to our cars, and those who do they risk everyone because if they get yanked their car is going to the impound!!

i still dont understand why greddy doesnt make a CARB turbo for 240s... they are all same turbos pretty much just with different pieces for bolt ons, so i dont know what their problem is... last i heard they were trying to pass this CARb deal and nothing is happening.

Re: OK,I got a way to hide a turbo...u will think im crazy lol!! i am!!

im sorry but u just had to hit some dank to come up with that idea......thats all i can think of. I mean its not that bad that they check your shit to see if its moded is it? I just cant see cops doing that on a regular basis. Your best bet is to do the manifold thing like TatII said, that looks nice and hidden to me. That would be a whole lot easier and more efficient than your cluster fuck of pipes that you came up with in my opinion. Or just dont get pulled over lol.

Dude, it says on the GReddy site that they turbo kits are CARB exempt, you should hit them up and see what they say.

greddy states "Many of the kits are covered under CARB E.O. numbers which make them 50-state street legal."

they say many of the kits... but not all, the 240s are not... this shop called greddy for me some few weeks ago and talked to them and they dont make CARB approved turbos for our cars yet... i mean the turbo can be purchased and then when approved they will send you the paper work and the CARB stickers... but as for right now, people like me wait..

So I might be going out on a limb here but, with this you can make a twin turbo sr20 or ka24 (what ever you want to boost)... Can it be done?

hahah matt you retard... everyone knows that that will not work, the nuclear reactors only work for cars in high altitudes like 15,000 feet or something, thats why they have those special rooms to make it like they are at 15,000 feet, so if you plan on putting this on the car make sure you get a garage on mountain everest!! because if you put one on at sea level then your car will blow up like a nuke!!

thats why nukes explode so good when they hit the ground at low elevations... some things just wont work bro!.. plus you would need to have those suits to drive your car if you plan on driving it at mountain everest, unless you want your arms to fall off and grow new arms else where or something!!

STS again. Have you ever been under the back of your car? Even if you do somehow get some custom stuff done to make the exhaust actually bolt up to a turbocharger, I would be suprised if you had enough room to send the compressed charge back. Boost lag would be very evident and you would have a very high pressure drop running through all of that tubing. You would need an oil pump to send oil from the turbocharger back to the engine. If that fails for any reason, you are fucked. You will spend about $150-$200 just on oil lines. If a pipe blows off the wrong way, it will probably dig into the ground and rip the unit off the bottom of your car so don't forget some zip ties or metal straps to avoid that. Just remember that turbochargers are designed to run off of heat, exhaust pressure, and noise. You are getting rid of a lot of all of those. My advice would be to run a very small unit. Not a very smart idea if you ask me. I would build a KA-T engine in the garage and when emissions roll around, swap in the junker like the SR guys do. Just my idea.

Only one of many factors. Others include:
Turbine housing size
wheel size and design
compressor housing size(small factor)
manifold design
intake piping
filter efficiency
BOV size
intercooler efficiency and size
exhaust efficiency and size
engine state of tune(yes it will effect your spool times)
proper lubrication
thermal efficiency of your engine and manifold(getting all the heat you can into the turbine housing and keeping it in)

That is purely preference. Try getting to a bottom mount for service. Road debris could become a problem as well.\

Yes you can. But this is only going to be harder. Twins are not ideal for such a small application as this. Generally the only time twins are really necessary or ideal is when you have a V type or similar engine with two cylinder banks. A lot of supra and skyline tuners switch to a single turbocharger because one large unit is much more efficient than two. The idea behind two is quicker spooling times, but with the configurations available today, you can have quick spooling turbos with high flow rates. Especially with the GT series from Garrett.

Wow.....

Now try explaining the point of that.

Re: OK,I got a way to hide a turbo...u will think im crazy lol!! i am!!

OK two thing that have not been said yet
1) what happens when it rains? water being sucked up into the intake ... ewwww!
2) pot holes, speed bumps and all that jazz. On a lowerd car and no room to put all that stuff, kiss it all bye bye.
