It's the same thing here in Calgary, I am the only car modeler in the club, they sure look at you a little funny when you talk about cars. I am in the process of bringing a car modeler out of the closet (so to speak) and he is now building and thinking about cars. Morale of the story is to convert as many armour and aircraft modelers as you can.

My dad built model cars back in "the day," I still have some parts froma 1:12 IROC Camaro he built once upon a time. He did a brief stint with ships, then moved on to airplanes, which he is hella good at. He did a bad a$$ camo job using masking tape and spray paint. He's my inspiration! Except for the whole airplane thing. I like the cars, they display better. Although, my brother did have a WWII aerobattle going on on his ceiling, with the occasional F16 flying wingman. OMG I hope those models didn't get tossed when they moved!

I know I have you guys here, but I get the feeling that pictures on the screen don't portray the hard work we put into these cars as much as seeing the real thing does. It's just a little disheartening to talk to people running a hobby shop and realize how uncommon your hobby really is.

Re: I am sad...

As another ACME memeber, I agree with ZoomZoom. The club is great. We have a large variety of people who build a variety of models. Some of our club meetings are like little model shows with 30 models on display.

If you're ever visiting Atlanta on the first weekend of any month come and visit us on that Sunday while you're here.

If you live in the Atlanta area or even within a few hours drive from Atlanta come and check us out. We'd love to have you be a part of the club.

Agreed, thanks Eric (and Mike). Our club website link is in our signatures, and Mike's working on a new A/F ACME signature for all of us. Check it out, the meeting calendar is on the website along with show information and directions.

That is very true and thats why people say "it looks better in real life" and i know how you feel i just moved back to my home town and the only person i know of that i could meet is a hours drive away and that makes you feel sad,its hard.
