i totally agree. If you look discrimination up in the dictionary, it gives one definition. Not many. Whether it you are discriminated agains for your race, for how wealthy you are, or for the car you drive. It is still a form of discrimination, and that is what my post was about. I think it really sucks.

Yes, exactly.

You didn't explain until after my post that it was about a friend of yours. It wasn't clear to me, despite your Acura/Nissan allegory, what effect "car discrimination" was going to have on you.

Seriously, if your friend is going to sweat over what make car you own, not even necesarily drive, since you still have the G20, you should tell that friend to take a flying leap.

And, I was trying to be funny. I use humor to deal with a lot of my problems. I didn't expect a lit match to be jammed up my pee-hole!

Hey KB,

Does this have anything to do with your post in the G20 forum about your "other" car?

near 9 mpg 71 plymouth sattelite they say i went from redneck to white trash
But i dont take them seriously because out of all the cars there my sattelite is the most dependable and the mustang is the newest of all the cars:finger:

initial d brings up probably the oldest and best known form of automotive discrimination. In recent years, this disease has spread to many other brands of autos. We must avoid it like the plague.

yeah, like that will happen.

I think the kind of shit talkin of other brands is usually all in good fun. When I've been to car shows with my old Ford, you'll get Chevy guys coming up to you " Oh look at this...Oh just a POS Ford" but they're smilin, and droolin all over the car and askin you about it.
And I do the same to... well... there aren't too many Chevys worth droolin over..:evillaugh

It's like those stickers on people's cars with someone pissin on the logo of the car brand they hate.

I'm not sayin I get all this stuff, especially those stickers, whats up with that?
And I'm not sayin I'm a Ford guy, There's also a 64 Caddy slowly dieing in my driveway, I just gotta get off my lazy ass and get it runnin.

Exclamation

Yes, laughing and joking at someone for the car they drive,(and secretly drooling over it, because it is nice) that is all in good fun. But, for a so called "friend" to say he will not hang around when I drive my civic, thats messed up on his part IMHO. I was just merely stating the fact, that discrimination, whether it is for a car, or the color fo your skin, is out of place. I dont really care whether YOU think I am stupid for driving a Honduh, but for what I thought was a close friend, some one I know, someone I hang out with, someone I used to go party with, tell me I am stupid for driving a different brand of car. Thats what I call fucked up.

Just call those elitist idiots krauts and see how they like it back. Your cars are far cooler than any German car.

Hey - your friend might be a total asshole and you need to pick your friends more wisely, but I find the term "car descrimination" completely laughable. Political Correctness finds another victim. I participate in "food discrimination" all the time because I refuse to eat head cheese. Add "soda discrimination" because I dont want anything to do with diet pop. Also put in "dumb fuck discrimination" because I find dumb fuckers not worth my time.

Well...laugh all you want. Go look up discrimination up in the Dictionary, and come back and tell me what it says.

Discrimination - The act of discriminating, distinguishing, or noting and marking differences. "To make an anxious discrimination between the miracle absolute and providential."

So according to the dictionary - descrimination is not a bad thing at all. Looks like you're getting all bent out of shape because your buddy has descriminating taste.

Well, first off, this post was put up about discrimination, whether it was for a car, or for your race. According to the dictionary from this site here discrimination means more than your fantasy land answer.

Fantasy Land? What fucking drugs are you taking?!? Websters is not a fucking fantasy land. The web site you sent me has it listed as the second set (after the American Heritage version). Read the damn thing. Even the first set has the same definitions.

1. The act of discriminating.
2 The ability or power to see or make fine distinctions; discernment.

You're looking at there third definition
3. Treatment or consideration based on class or category rather than individual merit; partiality or prejudice: racial discrimination; discrimination against foreigners.

In fact the only thing your narrow eyes saw was the last piece of that definition "prejudice" and then you saw the example, which is the only example they gave. "racial discrimination; discrimination against foreigners."

Perhaps the term "discriminating taste" is something you might recognize. So, to your way of thinking, that means that your own taste buds are being discriminatory to the flavor of the food. You should distance yourself from your tase buds for acting in such a fasion.

Fantasy land indeed. Discrimination based on a car. What a insult to those who truely face discrimination. If you truely feel that way, I will have to say that is the most pathetic thing I have ever read about on this board and it is truely sad.

What I was saying about your fantasy land asnwer, is you only posted what you wanted, not the whole page. Discrimination is discrimination, no matter how you look at it. If you bothered reading the rest of my posts, I said earlier. I have been lucky to have not been discriminated against for my race, but I feel for for those that have. Just by this one incident. Lets put it in human terms. Lets say I have a white family, and I decide to adopt a child from another race. When we do that, someone in our social group says they do not want anything to do with us anymore because of that. Is that not discrimination? Its basically the same thing, is it not? This post was not to say that car discrimintaion is what pisses me off, but discrimination towards a person in general. You said "So according to the dictionary - descrimination is not a bad thing at all." Does that mean you agree with this? If you bothered paying attention, you would know that In fact the only thing MY narrow eyes was talking about was the last last piece of that definition "prejudice" and that was the example, I was trying to give. It makes no sense going into a post, posting something of a definition, that has nothing to do with the topic. I am also glad that you think it is pathetic. It makes me happy. Happy to know, that something that happened to me, made me somewhat aware of what is out there. Yeah, i have never stopped to think about discrimination before, until this, does that make me a bad person? I must be, or better yet, I must be pathetic. So go ahead, keep calling me pathetic, and live your happy littel life.

I have read your posts. I have also read your posts on other threads. I did not consider you to be a blithering idiot. Yes, your attempt to equate what happened with your car and real discrimination is a complete joke. Because it made you think about discrimination is wonderful for you I suppose, but that does not mean that the logic you used had any validity.

As for the "happy little life" comment. I have only called your comments pathetic, not you. If you want to really degrade this into a pissing contest, I am more then game.
