There is no question that any d15 would fit, however they are not good candidates for the project car (horsepower and part availability). If you are simply looking for reliability, as with any honda motor, it would work.

Re: What Engines Will Fit

You have a d15a in there now.

You can find a good newer 92-95 d15a7 for about $150 if you need just a new motor.
I was going to do that but decided to get something better with some more hp.

Same motor as you have, if you dont do the MPFI and use your DPFI you get the same hp.
Though you will have to mod your dizzy a bit

Re: What Engines Will Fit

what is the particular reason you want to go sohc?
i did a dohc zc swap in my crx and im very happy with it, i think the swap would be easier than a sohc vtec. the dohc zc is definitely worth the extra compared to the sohc, and no extra motor mounts some teg axles and youre good

Re: What Engines Will Fit

With the DOHC ZC you will need some linkage too, I think. More money. And if you are in CALI then smog....

Yes VTEC is harder.
No extra mounts and can use existing tranny, axels.
And if you are going to rewire (going in a DX) for MPFI it is only 5 more wires to add for z6.
2 for VTEC and 3 for o2, no biggie if you have to do the 4 for MPFI.
Which you have to do for DOHC ZC.
The HP is about the same, 7hp loss is not that much...

K-motors are fine if you have the money.
$5000 for Motor or more?
Plus Tranny, ECU, axels?
Plus $1000 for mounts, Linkage and extras?
Out of most peoples budgets...
And I hear that there are extensive body mods to do...

Might as well do a LS/VTEC turbo for less and more HP

wut's the d15a deal, and wut's the d15a7 out of?

y not try a d16a1, because, if u ment the D15B7, then that's less power and torque than a D16A1/3. and the wiring would be no harder between the two.
i understand the H and K, lots'o work, money, and weight.

Re: What Engines Will Fit

Doh!!! Got the a insted of the b....

Ok here it goes...

d16a1 is the 87-89 USDM Integra DOHC, it will not work without major mods.
Not worth the effort
Get a DOHC ZC, much easer, same specs

d16a6 is the 88-91 Si and is what will fit easy.
Just needs MPFI wires, 108hp 100f#

SOHC ZC same as above, but more HP
Better cam, pent & larger combustion chambers, Domed pistons

My Bad I ment D15B2 is what is in the DX now 92hp 89f#.

A D15B7 is 92-95 DX and is rated at 102hp 98f# with MPFI
This is about what you get when you MPFI a b2
But the b7 is MPFI and OBD1, so you will have to wire some.
If you dont want to and want to leave it obd0 and use the DPFI you can
It will make about the same hp as the d15b2
They are the same motors, almost.
You could also MPFI obd0 with the Si Dizzy and ECU

d15b VTEC is out of JDM spec 92-95
Easy to get not as good as the z6
You can get them for $400 complete.
Depending on who you believe it is 120-130hp

Here is a good site on the d15b VTEC:
