Yea I know they can be wicked fast but wheres the physicality? Wheres the fun and the excitement? Wheres the risk of a slow shift? Wheres the satisfaction if that perfect shift? And wheres 5th gear?

...there's overdrive which is basically fifth gear....![]() yeah....i know what your saying though. its the driver involvement that makes it a little bit more exciting and fun. hence me swapping a 5-speed into my Z....

Did I hear someone say, but Zgringo your trannies are built? What 'bout your light flywheels and racing clutch? All said and done a automatic shifts faster and with SAW shifts just like a stick. What everybody is forgetting here is most of us are looking for better or higher performance, right? Albert |

300zx turbos are bigger, better, and more efficient. your 3kgt turbos only hold 14psi till 4k rpm's and then drop to 9. I held 11.5 to redline. Does anyone know what 300zx turbos will hold to red line? |

Stock for stock, Ill take a 5 speed, for a daily driver, 5 speed no dought, driving is boring, I need more to do while im in the car. you can do more fun sh*t with a 5 speed. Plus your built tranny probably cost 2x that of a flywheel and clutch. Maybe not, im not really a AT guy, so im not sure. |

I've also had many people ask me how I learned to shift so fast. I just smile and tell'em it's a automatic. I find the hardest part of driving a Zed is holding back. It's like riding a race horse and making it walk all the time, If you listen real close you can hear it saying, common, lets go. But you have to listen close. When you hear it, then you'll know you love your Zed. |

Re: 1/4 mile for 300zx TT
I hear mine whenever I get on the interstate..... I wont let my mom drive it becuase she already drives 100+ in her 2dr V6 04 Accord.
I fear what she would do in my Z....... *shudder* I do 90 everywhere on the interstate.... and 60-70 on the back roads, weather permiting of course. |
