Re: brightest headlight bulbs avaliable?

Silverstar on the left, OEM on the right. They don't suck at all. I took them off because I just sold the car and the silverstar foglights were brighter than the stocks. Granted the stocks were kinda old and a few of the rings on the fillaments were fused but they are worth the money in my book. You can even get them at wallmart.

Sometimes I wish that these headlight makers would keep in mind that oncoming traffic has these shining in their faces.

Re: brightest headlight bulbs avaliable?

Color temp does not indicate brightness, in fact you sacrifice brightness for that blueish tint. Heres a great sticky thread about the subject, its a good read. Those ebay bargans blow out real fast since they run higher wattage.

Re: brightest headlight bulbs avaliable?

PIAAs are too rich for my blood and I don't like the blueish qualities they come with, I like a crisp bright white light for a reasonable price and thats what silverstar gives me. If people want something different I sugest they know what they want and read that article before they make any decisions. They're both better than stock, the difference was just more pronounced for me I guess.

thanks for the link to the article. Thats the exact kind of thread I wanted to see. I guess now I have to find myself some PIAA super plasma GT-X. Man, gonna be expensive, but I think well needed for something as important as your car and life.

Re: brightest headlight bulbs avaliable?

piaa headlights dont have a blue tint unless you buy those mine are just white. As for the h.i.d you are not likely to be given a ticket for your headlights if that was so than those bmw x5 would be screwed, ther're beams are right in my window, have you ever been parked in front of a evo when they turn on there lights you can't see anything behind it so you wont get stoped for that

its a good article that talks about bulb and color temperature. On the 3rd page theres a pic of the PIAA super plasma GT-X, it looks real nice, and from that thread should throw out a lot of light also. I actually just bought a set of the plasam GT-X from ebay like 2 mins ago, man, its expensive for bulbs, and I'll see how they are. I'll be pissed if they burnt out though...
I hate impulse buying!!!
