Re: Car Audio system

i want some clarions 6.5 i can only use 50$ but i was wondering whether or not getting 4 way speakers would be a good idea or is 4 way just a way to trick people into buying them because 4 way might be useless

I had a panasonic head unit in my old 300...older one that the whole face glowed blue at night...and not just the screen...even the plastic frame parts. I had that, couple front no-name speakers in front with a couple tweeters wired in too...my back speakers didn't work and I had a 12" MTX Blue Thunder behind a ~280 watt (I think) MTX RoadThunder amp. Beotch would set off car alarms...till someone stole the box, sub and amp. Never really thought what a convienient package it was with the amp screwed to the top of the box...

Approx money spent on the above:
Sub and box: $45 from some dude in the Circuit City parking lot. This is why THAT getting stolen didn't really bother me too much...it was probably stolen to begin with.
Amp: $300. Brand fuckin new...THAT being stolen (and the damage to the car) is what really pissed me off. Damn good amp.
Tweeters: $15 from some dude that lived in my apt building. Took the door apart and spliced the wires to these in with the door-speaker wires. Put the door back together and you couldn't even tell they were there. Improved the sound 10 fold. And remember guys...hi frequency sounds are directional!...not like a sub that you can put wherever. You have to have them facing you for them to be at their best!
No-name speakers: Like...$15 bucks or something at the swap meet.

I'm goin all out on my next system...but that stuff's secret...

well..since we are on the topic of stereos. i thought it would be cool if everyone posted pics of there stereo system in their Z. here some pics of my panasonic head unit.

here is my light bluish color that i usually have it set on so it matches my stock guages perfect.

this is what green looks like. looks good at night, but you cant see anything during the day with the green.

here is red. its the same as the green. looks real cool at night but during the day you cant see anything becauseof the angle that the Z's dash is at. those are the three main colors but you can blend colors together to create any color you want except for like yellow and orange.

and this is the only thing i dont like about this head unit. damn finger prints because of the touch screen. they wipe right off but they are right back. you cant seem them unless the light is shining on it so its all good.

EDIT: does anybody know why imageshack always makes the pictures that i take with this digital camera so big, it ruins the picture??? i never had a problem with my older camera.
EDIT 2: oh im betting i have to resize the photo before i have imageshack host it. i see. my program expired so i cant do that. damn Dell...

Re: Car Audio system

why don't you just use ms paint to shrink the pictures... it's simple, free, legal, and easy to use...

this computer only came with one paint shop but it expired after 6 months. its a way for dell to get you to spend another $30 by having to buy the official program instead of a demo. i dont have the digital camera software because i am borrowing the camera. i will see what i can do. it sucks, because the camera takes good pics but then the pictures are so horrible once you make them a 15"x15".

Re: Car Audio system

I have a good digicam...too bad I don't have anything special in the Head Unit department...an ancient Alpine cassette deck in the Z and the factory unit in the Prelude. The alpine's gotta go...the factory Acoustic Feedback System that's in the Lude is AMAZING. Honestly, I don't want to mess with it. Maybe a small sub, but that's all I would even consider doing to it unless I wanted to replace EVERYTHING. 6 speaker, 120 watts from the factory...sounds phenomenal. Don't fix it if it ain't broken.

I was going to do the system in the 300. Now I'm kinda thinking about leaving that out. Takin out the A/C...all that has to do with that...the weak ass stereo and speakers...all the crap that I don't want or need...gone. For the sake of weight, budget and simplicity. Thinking about using the 300 for power...speed...performance...all the GOOD shit...then have the Lude for the foofy shit like stereo stuff...comfort...looks...all the daily use stuff.
