A carbon fiber body? .........this is starting to sound like BS to me. And I am with Technical_Automan on this one. this guys question might be legit if your a newbie but the fact that he mentioned a civic and compared it like that to a VR-4.......aw god that is exactly why these kids get picked on! why dont you race him with your SL and find out just how fast that econobox is? oh and yeah we could swap out a vr-4 motor for something faster, we swap them for H22A's, we do it all the time and add 1000 shot of NOS too. wicked fast!

Re: hmmmm

lol i saw a civic here with a carbon fiber "body". It was beyond ugly, it had like lamborghini green paint on the back, yellow mirrors and door handles, then the front bumper, hood and fenders, and gas cap were all black carbon fiber. Oh yeah and a carbon fiber wing. lol I was just like wtf? don't you people look at your cars? how can you not know that's the ugliest car on the street.

Re: hmmmm

well let me speak on something. do not underestimate a civic, especially a turboed one. delsol turbo charged ran a 12.4, turbocharged sentra ran a 12.6 at the same strip a supra ran a 13.7 and nsx ran a 13.4 and a skyline ran a 12.8. these honda's were not using nitrous.

personally the story almost sounds like bs to me, carbon fiber body and what not, but its possible. if thi is the case a turbocharged civic(depending on what motor and turbo) will give our bpu vr4 a run for there money.

and speak about drivetrain loss, our gears are setup for amazing top speeds with 5 speeds 3rd gear redlinging at 120+mph and 6 speeds 3rd at 115. which is why i have raced rwd muslce and have been victorious from a roll. drivetrain loss is not much at all.

Its just like you say Young, "anything can be made fast" . 10 second metro. I'd still wouldnt drive it and I got nothing against civics just civic drivers, j/k but a c-f body sounds beyond too much, especially for a street car

Re: hmmmm

A del sol running 12's I could have respect for...the Sentra definitely not...i'd rather have a 15 second 3000GT than a 12 second Sentra (which is my situation right now). I used to be a rice burner I have some respect for them, but when 12's are the feasible limit I started looking to the twin-turbo categories where 9's seem to be the feasible limit, and that's juuust fast enough for me whenever I get to it.

Re: hmmmm

i agree, i'm just saying don't think that a turboed honda wont blow you away. and i,ve seen them alot faster then 12,s
with my own two eyes the fastes i've seen was 10.8 in a
2 door civic

don't think 12's is were it ends

Was that 10 second Civic street legal though and look good (not that a Civic ever does, but not look like a drag car)? I don't mind Honda as a company, they've got the S2000, NSX, and I like the newer Preludes...I like anything that I don't see everyday, and I hate anything that every kid and their mother puts work into as my sig states.
