if i keep my b18a1 then i'm thinkin of getting it bored out to a 2 litre, port and polish, 5 angle valve job, better cams, cam gears etc etc... then building the bottom end and tossing a block guard in and boosting the fucker
dont wanna spend all that money only to have it fuck up
then i wanna find a CRX shell and make it my race car

THE B18B1 WAS 140 BECAUSE OF THE HEAD DIFFERENCES
I disagree that all B18A1's were 130 horse.

I researched this pretty well when I was looking into my swap and found more than one source that had the same info quiXilver listed.

In a nut shell, the 92-93 B18A1 had about 10 more hp than the 90-91s. Not sure way, maybe obd differences, maybe cams, dont really know, but several sites have confirmed it.

Re: Got an LS....

I'm gonna throw the b18a1 long block I just picked up for $200 in my car and just drive it while I build up another b1 block, then I'm gonna probably port and polish the head, then see how I like it. And if I'm feeling froggy one day, I might turbo charge it. I already have the nos kit so I still have a little fun up my sleeve.

DONT BELIEVE EVERYTHING U READ ON THE INTERNET....B18A1....WAS 130....B18B1 WAS 140.....THEY CHANGED IT TO THE B18B1 BECAUSE THE HEAD CHANGED.....THATS THE ONLY DIFFERENCES BETWEEN A A1 AND B1

I have always had the LS in my crx, I had a d16z6 in my old hatch but I dont think you were here for that.

It's actually a b18a block with a b18b head so its like a hybrid LS I geuss you could say.

All motor LS isnt exactly stupid. Its a better idea if you put it in a lighter car such as a crx or hatch. Theres a crx with a b20 in it around here all motor no vtec runnin 12.1's supposedly the fastest in the world, I wouldent be suprised because who does all motor b20 without vtec?

Re: Got an LS....

lol i think his info links pwned you

Why not go LS all motor? Just because someone else screwed up building theirs and got 14s doesnt mean someone else can make the motor run real nice. Every motor is different, there are too many variables to just say that this motor sucks (unless its a 60hp tercel4wd motor 3AC lol)

Re: Got an LS....

Well I haven't been taking any pics which I should've been, but I'll get some up tomorrow. We've got my motor out, took the other seized motor out of the hatch I'm using for the swap, put the tranny on the new block i picked up, and it's pretty much ready to go in the next time we get over there.

I'm not sure about the alternator though. It seems it doesn't line up to the adjustment slot. Does anyone have any links to an LS swap? Just to make sure I'm gonna do all the right things? Thanks
