Careful. We don't want to give the impression that everyone from Toronto is a wingnut...

Nasa tested this same paint on space shuttles and found that silver space shuttles broke the atmosphere a full 4.8 minutes before other ones.
The silver paint also holds some heat resistant qualities, which are hardly noticeable in automobiles, but played a huge part in the longevity of such aircrafts. Firstly, the colour itself tends to reflect heat rather than absorb it, secondly, the decreased drag means friction caused by winds exceeding the 800km hr mark is reduced to a 5th of usual temperatures, and lastly because the particles dissipate heat more rapidly than previous models. Ever wonder why space shuttles used to be white, and are now silver?
The safety of today's cosmonaughts can be attributed to innovations such as this.
BAHAHAHA!!! :hehe: "Powered by silver paint" sticker

So I should get "Powered by Torino Red Pearl" sticker :hehe:

If silver tends to reflect heat rather than absorb it....how come it tends to be the easier colour to have problems with cracking in the paint?

White should reflect the most heat, because it contains all the colours of the light spectrum, and reflects the most. Black contains the least, so that is why it absorbs the most heat.

Look...look, I never said I was a rocket scientist.
I am merely stating reported facts.

In a study conducted by the Smithsonian they found that 8 out of 10 chimpanzees were more drawn towards toys containing the vogue silver colour as opposed to others tested, including torino red. Ever wonder why you never see chimps wearing red hats?

Answer that!

How the hell did you get onto talking about chimpanzees????

So is your new theory that colours which attract the eye better will perform better just because 8 out of 10 people chose that colour :silly2:

NOW you're getting the picture!

Studies conducted in the early 60's on telekinesis found that machinery
tend to perform better when guided by waves of human thought.
The essence of the theory was basically, that if you exert more positive thought into a machine's function, it shall perform better than without.
Because so many people are attracted to the beauty of vogue silver,
they tend to want silver cars namely acura integras to succeed in races, hence another advantage for silver integras.

huh?

Well here in Oz...all the integras from 98 onwards had the slantier nose, and you could only get silver vtec models that year onwards. You could still get normal silver before then, but just GSI base models not VTEC. Majority of the VTEC model integras before then, were burgundy, red, or grey.

So my old silver 3rd gen civic should have been much faster than all the other 3rd gen civics because it was silver.

I was talking about the GS-R. It did have silver in 2001, but not in 2000, 1999, 1998, 1997...(that is as far back as I went, to lazy to go all of the way back).
