Re: Audioslave

Personally I think Audioslave is a waste of Morello and the others' talents. I just find Cornells lyrics...nonsensical.

Why would you want to see Morello play acoustic? Part of what defined RATM as such a great band was how hard they were. I hate it when hard rock bands try to go acoustic, when the heavy sound is what defines them in the first place. The idea of the musicians turning the volume doesn't so Cornell can croon over the top pisses me off enormously. I loved rage, I hate audioslave.

Re: Audioslave

thrasher, have you heard of The Nightwatchmen? (Or just Watchmen, something like that). It's another band that Morello is in, apparently all accoustic

why would i want to see morello play acoustic? maybe because i dont have just one taste in music. a great guitarist is not limited to electric. since he is my favorite guitarist i would see him whenever. rage isnt as hard as inside out, do you who that is?

I think I can safely say I'm not alone in the opinion that hard rock bands gone soft suck. It happens ALL the time. I have tons of respect for Morello as a guitarist, but I just can't stand it when rock guitarists play their heavily distorted kick ass rock songs as acoustic love songs. That shit just sucks. Audioslave is not a kick ass hard rock band. They're a softer, weaker, 14 year old girl cryin cause her boyfriend broke up with her band. No thanks. I like my rock guitar driven and kick ass.

Re: Audioslave

Nightwatchmen is the band Toksin. Actually very good.

Thats fine if you dont like acoustic, but dont bash others style of music. Many times a bands softer side is where the MOST emotion gets out, and is something they put their most work in. I have been writing a song for almost 3 years that is constantly being perfected.

If you dont like acoustic what style of music do you play for your girlfriend? Is it just bitch get in bed i want some now or what? I love hard music, thats mostly what i listen to, but i also love acoustic in its own way too, have an open mind

Re: Audioslave

I wasnt really sure about audioslave when they first came out. It did seem a little softer. But when a friend offered me a free ticket to lollapaloza(sp?) i figured why not. After seeing them play live (especially when toms equiptment was messing up and chris cornell said "were a professional band we know what to do when shit like this happens, someone give me a fuckin acoustic guitar" and started jammin out) it changed my views of them drasticly. Simply put they kick ass

Re: Audioslave

Stuff like that rocks. I went to see a local band once at some or other festival, the power died, so they just got all the percussion guys together and started jamming til the power came back on. was awesome!

Re: Audioslave

^That would be awesome; And i would love to see Audioslave live, hopefully they come to The Canopy Club soon, hell every other rock band has. And Thrasher i know what your talking about, but believe it or not, some people do like accoustic AND hard rock, hell even Skindred did an accoustic version of their song Pressure.

Re: Audioslave

I remember now, I was going to see Audioslave when they played in Wellington.

Never go to go though, instead I was in Dunedin breaking up with my girlfriend.
