1Gs are easier to work on. The single biggest factor that stands out in my mind is tranny/motor install/remove. There are 2 mounts on the block with 1gs. So when you remove the tranny side mount to drop the tranny, the motor sits where it should. None of that assing around with the angle of the motor and risking a dented oil pan like with 2Gs. And thats just ONE item. There are others
