Instead of a Civic coupe, try finding a Civic hatchback, preferably the 1996-1999 ones with the big headlights. The hatchback is much more sportier looking than the coupe, IMO.

I guess I have some reading up to do about the prelude. I dunno, I just find it somewhat odd that the prelude gets so much attenion for its handling even though its one of honda's heavier cars.
It's got some bad-ass technology that would make you swear it was RWD in the corners.

Re: Mid-90s Sports Compact Cars

early preludes had optional four wheel steer. It was kinda a mechanical pain in the ass, but when it worked it did dial out alot of understeer during high-speed cornering.

Re: Mid-90s Sports Compact Cars

Well, the newer ones have Active Torque Transfer, which can send more or less power to either the inside or outside set of wheels to control oversteer/understeer. Quite nifty.

i thought it was very very pointless to put those things in the middle of the for everyone to see. and the little lights like abs, brake, check engine etc surrounding it looks cheap esp when lit. also the speed and tach look stupid.

however i must admit that the seats are very very good.

yes its terrible. if it snows too much, i leave the car parked and i just take the bus. that is unless i put some snow tires on and put in a LSD. then it would be just okay. but since i have non of those, its horrid.

my vote is for the 240sx or another thing to look into is a audi 90 or a4, get ether one of those in quattro, turbo models and you will be very happy for 200,000+ miles, i was going to buy one before i got my 240 and now i wish i bought the audi, it was soo fast and awd kicks ass, but yeah, look into those, if you find one that is like 12k just ask if they will take 10, and its a fucking audi, i mean come on, AUDI. but yeah they are cool because they are like classy yet super sporty (alot more than a honda, and you will get more respect by everyone)

Re: Mid-90s Sports Compact Cars

Shouldn't this thread be called "Mid 90s Sports Compact Hondas"?

Re: Mid-90s Sports Compact Cars

Hehe, that's what I was thinking. I'd take a 240SX or Eclipse GSX over any of those.
